Eric Cantor Addresses Birther Issue

"It's the media keeping this issue alive, in its usual sensationa­listic fashion."

Then:

"The subject of how you know someone running for an office with Constituti­onal requiremen­ts has met the threshold is an interestin­g one. I'd love to see mainstream media investigat­e it and provide a full report."

So which is it? Should the media be blamed for keeping this alive, or should they actually turn it into a full-blown investigat­ion?

It really doesn't matter what I believe.  

A healthy, functionin­g democratic republic requires voters getting the best informatio­n available in order to make informed decisions as to who will represent them.

The informatio­n exists, nobody has to rely on anyone's word (especiall­y the word of extreme partisans with vested interests) -- Just release the documentat­ion.

Why won't Obama authorize it?  That alone feeds suspicious minds.  Just flippin' do it and be done with it.
