Do you think that these people would insult the memories of their loved ones?:

http://www.911truth.org/article.php?story=20041026093059633

Most Americans learn the truth about our government & what it does to others in our names the hard way: After losing a loved one through an act of terr0r.

When it happened to my family, I could no longer accept the standard description by talking heads covering these events as "attacks on innocent civilians". Because in a democracy, we are the government. We elect our leaders. We put them into office. What they do to others in other nations, they do with the awesome power of the US military that we have given them.

Our government has overthrown democratically elected governments in other countries and installed dictators who have brutalized & enslaved their people for the benefit of US (and now transnational) corporations. Most Americans live in blissful ig.nor.ance of these facts that are known by others around the world.

I have little doubt that if terr0r!sts could get to our leaders instead of us, they would. But Obama (and Bush-Cheney before him) don't fly commercial. As we're the ones that terr0rists can get to (& since We the People are ultimately the ones, theoretically, with the power in a democratic republic to change the policy & leadership), we become the targets.

Had you watched the clip, you would know that we're NOT building up the residential neighborhoods for the actual people in Afghanistan.

We, the American taxpayer, are building mansions for rich Afghans who don't live there, but live in places like Dubai. They rent out the mansions to western contractors, so we're now being charged twice -- Once to build the mansion and then rent as part of the deals we have with private contractors (or embassy staff or other US government emissaries working or visiting there).

The streets that these mansions are on are undeveloped, unpaved, unlit, no trash pick-up, etc., because the owners of these mansions refuse to pay taxes to the Afghan government. Why? Because they don't live there, they live in Dubai, so why should they pay for something they wouldn't benefit from.

The point is that Afghanistan is not being built, and the money we're spending isn't getting to the actual Afghans who live there. No trickle down economy. The money being paid for the building and rental of the mansions doesn't stay in Afghanistan.

State Department To Field Its Own Army In Iraq After U.S. Troops Withdraw

Told you so.

The US withdrawing from Iraq means just that. No matter who is actually doing the muscling, it's on behalf of the ones paying the bills, and it's still us, the US taxpayer.

This is Obama playing word games and not keeping his pledge.

Two weeks ago, Rachel Maddow and Richard Engel went on a walking tour of a residential neighborhood in Afghanistan that's been built with U.S. dollars. This is how we're "nation-building", and Obama should be called out for the lie of it, and keeping us there -

You clearly lack the ability for independent thought and analysis to make such a claim given all of the evidence to the contrary.

Even if you restricted your research to just what's in the 9/11 Commission's report, your skepticism should be aroused. Not even what's in the report, but how it was created, about how the commissioners were selected and what they were forced to agree to prior to being allowed to sit on the commission. All political partisans, no experts in any of the fields involved (nor did any science experts testify). They had to agree to issue one report, with no dissenting or alternative opinions. The one report would include only that which they could all agree upon, leaving out everything that they didn't agree on. That's the equivalent of the Sheriff of Nottingham declaring that Robin Hood wasn't in Sherwood Forest after taking a posse into it & riding single file through from north to south, never venturing off the main path or looking left or right.

By your logic, the US can never leave.

Congress did not authorize this.

On Hardball with Chris Matthews, congressmen Jim McGovern and Gerald Nadler talk about the war in Afghanistan -- What are we fighting for in Afghanistan?:

CONGRESSMAN GERALD NADLER: We originally went into Afghanistan because we said that Al Qaeda has base camps from which they are planning attacks on the US, we ought to get rid of those base camps, we ought to eliminate them. We did. We said, "All right, the Taliban were helping Al Qaeda, we punish them". But now the mission seems to have morphed into, "We have to remake the government of Afghanistan, we have to put it on a solid footing, we have to get its writ to run in the whole country", which no government in Kabul has ever been able to do, "We have to remake the whole government". That is beyond our capability and, frankly, it's none of our business.

On 7/7/10, Nato airstrike kills five Afghan soldiers -

On 7/20/10, Two US civilians were shot dead by an Afghan soldier in northern Afghanistan today.

Coalition forces have been involved in a major push to train up their Afghan counterparts, but the shooting, involving an Afghan Army trainer at a weapons training area near Mazar-e-Sharif, highlights the difficulties faced by foreign troops.

It also comes after the killing last week of three British servicemen at the hands of an Afghan policeman.

The suspect was also killed in the today's incident, along with another Afghan soldier, during routine weapons proficiency training at CampShaheen.

Afghans are as ready as they'll ever be. They've learned well everything that the west has to teach them.

Bush DOJ's Firing Of U.S. Attorney David Iglesias Was Inappropriately Political But Not Criminal, Obama DOJ Says

No one who read the 9/11 Commission report and examined the anomalies and contradictions can possibly dismiss the very real (if not likely) possibility that 9/11 was a CIA black op so automatically and out-of-hand.
