So what kind of a schmvck is Obama for not doing what he should have done right from the git-go, been a president with baIIs, a leader with the courage of his (alleged) convictions, and pushed through a robust stimulus in the first place?
I don't want to hear the 0'bots' excuses, "No Republicans would vote for it", or "He's a master chess player," -- He's a politician, and not even much of a good one.

Obama came into office with the wind at his back, with more people having voting for him, a black man in good old rac!$t America, than ever in the history of the US. They did it because of his ability to persuade that he was going to change the system, end the corporatocracy, lobbyism in government -- He was going to be the People's president, and not a corporate t00I.
During the Bush years, Democrats said if the People wanted change, they had to put Democrats in the majority in Congress. So in 2006, we did. Nothing changed.
Democrats said, "You have to give us more Democrats -- 60 in the Senate". In 2008, we gave them the 60. And the White House.
And no sooner did Obama get elected than he slammed on the brakes of the momentum of his election and a filibuster-proof Senate, did a 180-degree turn on his campaign promises and sloooooowed everything down. To "work in a bipartisan manner with Republicans", after Republicans had already announced they were going to block everything Democrats wanted to do, and vote no on everything, in lockstep.
And with 2 of the 60 at de@th's door (Kennedy & Byrd), Obama slowed the works down.
Anybody who still supports Obama or the DLC-controlled Democratic Party, who believes Obama & the DLC is for the People, is a m0ron.

Obama & Democrats would love for their supporters to believe it's all the Republicans' fault.
Yes, Republicans are scvm, but the fact of the matter is that Democrats don't need Republicans for passing anything. Democrats enjoy a greater majority in both houses of Congress than either party has in decades. Even without 60. But Obama doesn't need 60 to pass legislation. He doesn't need Republicans to pass legislation.
All Democrats need: 50 + Biden
But they won't do that.
Democrats also won't exercise the discretion that Rule 22 allows: Making Republicans actually filibuster, instead of just threatening to do it.
Rule 22 gives the SenateMajo
But Obama & the DLC-controlled DemocraticParty aren't doing that. Because it might actually work to get Democratic voters' legislative agenda made into the law of the land & do good for the People. And that's not what Obama&Company are there for. They are there to do the work of the transnational corporations, and preventing that are the liberals.
So Obama reaches out for Republicans, watering down the legislation that they won't vote for. Because everything that the parties do, both parties, is for the next election campaign.
Democrats could even change the supermajority rule, do it by SIMPLE majority (50 + 1).

And about Lieberman.
Obama was the one who insisted that he be allowed to caucus with Democrats.
Obama was the one who let Lieberman keep the chairmanship of the Governmental Affairs and Homeland Security Committee. That's the committee that whitewashed the Bush administration's failure during Hurricane Katrina. Obama rubberstamped that committee's not investigating Bush once Democrats took over control of government.
During the healthcare reform debate, Obama never once pressured Lieberman for threatening to filibuster any legislation that had a public option in it. Obama never pressured Ben Nelson, either.
Obama DID unleashed the attack dogs to go after Howard Dean when Dean said it was a lousy bill. Dean was then forced to get back into line. Obama did go after Kucinich for threatening to vote no on the healthcare bill, and we all know how that ended.
You're an id-jit if you still think Obama and the DLC-controlled Democratic party is on your side. You're k!IIing us all with your continued loyalty to politicians who are all working for the side: CORPORATIONS.
