Egypt Pro-Government Supporters Clash With Anti-Government Protesters

"I am young, actually. I came to Huffington Post today to take a break from studying for a test about scientific studies concerning gender in the Victorian era. I am in college. I love history. It is my major. I take it that you are a lot older than I am. To tell you the truth, I'm sort of tired after studying for hours on end. I honestly don't have the willpower left to converse with you about this any longer. You obviously know more than I do about many things, so I can only congratulate you on your immense wisdom and endless knowledge. I wish you a good night."

You entered this thread posting arrogant/y and you exit the same way, dripping sarcasm.

Imagine my surprise over US students testing high on self-esteem but without the test scores to support it.

No, what I find offensive is an American who thinks the job of the media in a democratic republic is to treat their elected representatives in government like royalty, instead of what they are: Public servants accountable to the citizens.

Now you seem to think that asking you how old you are is condescending.  I think of it as information necessary for making decisions about how to reform our public education system.  Because identifying how anyone who thinks that "the press is constantly hounding" Obama (or shouldn't be holding a president to account) comes to believe that needs to be understood.

Comprende vous?

Sarah Palin's Safari Club Speech: 'We Eat Organic -- We Just Have To Shoot It First'

FYI - Squirrels' territory covers up to 10 acres.

And they get pushed around and out of their territory by other squirrels, other aggressive or predatory animals, and nuisance, bullying dogs that they're tired of having to deal with, too.

Just sayin'.

You never know everything that they're eating; they do not live by birdseed alone.  And is the seed that you're giving them organic?  Mine, by the way, are feasting on corn that I've never planted, none of my neighbors in at least a 2-mile radius have planted, but that's growing wild in one section of my yard.  I suspect that some bird flying over 'evacuated' the seeds, or it goes blown in during a storm with high gusts, but I have no idea if it's organic seed.

Sarah Palin's Safari Club Speech: 'We Eat Organic -- We Just Have To Shoot It First'

Back in the day (I'm an old, old person), the media covered people like SPaIin, or reported on any speeches they made, or turned to people like SPaIin for comments who had expertise in the issues that made it into the news that day.

How is what SPaIin says to an obscure club (or tweets or says on Facebook) newsworthy?

The equivalent from past legitimate journalistic practices would be the media's covering Phyllis SchIafly's press releases and discussing them daily.

SPaIin has no position in federal or state government.  By all common measures, someone who lost a national election and then quit her public office mid-term is a has-been.  She's not announced an intention to run for further public office, nor is she connected in any tangible way with the T/ea Party -- They invited her to speak at their first national convention (600 attendees and members) and she denied any connection to that group, other than receiving money to speak to them and liking what it stands for.

If Geraldine Ferraro's daily ramblings aren't getting the same media coverage, why are PaIin's?  With the exception of Ferraro having completed her term of office, both are failed VP candidates who now have contracts as poIitical commentators on F0X.

The media continues to fail the American people's interests.

What's tragic, IMHO, is that she's laughing all the way to the bank.  Everyone who attended that speech had the discretionary money to meet her speaking fee.  On the one hand, of course let them waste perfectly good money supporting her idlotic ramblings.  OTOH, millions of families are hurting, don't know where they're going to hang their hats or get their next meals, and that money could have gone a long way to help them.

I can't help but think of her as a prostItute, taking money from men who are paying her to speak when they really wish for something else from her with that money.

Sarah Palin's Safari Club Speech: 'We Eat Organic -- We Just Have To Shoot It First'

No!  Not true at all.

When we talk about organic food, we're talking about food that has been certified as having been produced without synthetic chemicals, e.g. fertilizer, pesticides, additives, antibiotics, GMOs, sewage/sludge, irradiation, etc.

And depending on the country (and even the states within the US), the land which produces the food has to be free of all such substances for specific number of years (some states it's 3 years, and others it's as many as 7, or was the last time I looked).

You know some of what the birds (and squirrels) are eating.  You know what they're eating at your place.  You don't know what they're eating when they leave your place and snack on at your neighbors' houses (rat po!son, GMO, processed foods, etc.).

I usually find that when I think for myself, what I come up with coincides closely with what Chomsky says.  It's sure makes a he//uva lot more sense than the Obama-speak (same thing as Bush-speak, Frank-Luntzian focus group tested phrases) which are designed to mislead people into believing you've said something that you haven't really said.

Start thinking for yourself instead of parroting Obamabotulisms.

On Democracy Now!:

When asked about President Obama’s remarks last night on Mubarak, Chomsky said: "Obama very carefully didn’t say anything... He’s doing what U.S. leaders regularly do. As I said, there is a playbook: whenever a favored dictator is in trouble, try to sustain him, hold on; if at some point it becomes impossible, switch sides."

I think that's a fair take on the situation.

Just two days ago, when asked if Mubarak should leave now, if he's a d/ctator, Joe Biden said "No."

The Saudi royals have been denouncing the protestors.  The Saudis are our masters, to whom Obama has bowed deeply.  Knowing what your own eyes have told you from two years of "bipartisanship" and bowing and scraping to Republicans, who do you think Obama is trying to please?

The best interests of the American people, our economic and physical safety, lies with the people in that region, and not the d/ctators oppressing them.
