Here's a blast from the past - Candidate Obama's own words:

"I don't think we're going to see significant changes in the political culture in Washington until the American people rise up and insist on it"

Democrats are in the same business as Republicans: To serve their Corporate Masters, & by extension, the military industrial complex.

I suggest that you consider Democrats & Republicans as working on the same side, as tag relay teams (or like siblings competing for parental approval). 'Good cop/bad cop'. One side (Republicans) makes brazen frontal assaults on the People, & when the People have had enough, they put Democrats into power because of Democrats' populist rhetoric.

Once in power, Democrats consolidate Republicans' gains from previous years, & continue on with Republican policies (but renamed, with new advertising campaigns). They throw the People a few bones, but once Democrats leave office, we learn that those bones really weren't what WeThePeople thought they were.

Whenever the People get wise to the shenanigans & all the different ways they've been tricked, & start seeing Democrats as no different than Republicans, Democrats switch the strategy. They invent new reasons for failing to achieve the People's business.

Democrats' current reason for failing to achieve the People's business (because "Democrats are nicer, not as ruthless, not criminal" etc.) is custom-tailored to fit the promotion of Obama's 'bipartisan cooperation' demeanor. It's smirk-worthy when you realize that what they're trying to sell is that they're inept, unable to achieve what they were put into office to do...And their ineptitude, like that's somehow "a good thing".

And so Obama and the DLC-controlled Democratic Party guarantees that the policies of whichever political party comes to power delivers to the transnational corporations and not the American people.  Why do you keep enabling that?  Why do you keep throwing yourself in front of Obama and DLC Democrats?  Why do you keep voting in your own worst interests?

Unless, of course, you're one of the rich, the corporatists, benefiting from Obama's continuing the Bush-Cheney policies.

I am an old liberal Democrat.

If you believe that Republicans are so bad, if you believe that Republicans are such scvm and dangerous (as I, an old liberal Democrat, do) then why isn't Obama investigating and prosecuting them? Why isn't Obama investigating & prosecuting the greatest heist on the People in all history, that has us mired in the second Great Depression with no prospects for digging out?

Why are Obama and Democrats continuing the war crimes of Bush & Cheney, and blocking investigations and prosecutions into their crimes?

How does a Democratic president, on the heels of the most criminal and corrupt administration in the nation's history, not replace Bush-era US attorneys? Presidents may fire US attorneys, and they do so routinely at the beginning of a new administration. It is unusual to fire US attorneys in mid-term (as Bush did) except in cases of gross misconduct (which wasn’t the case during the Bush administration). This is what Obama's US attorneys do instead of returning the democracy to the American people -- Instead we get Bush-style obscenity prosecutions.

Tax Cut Compromise Leaves Ardent Obama Supporters Disillusioned

Worst Democrat & President Ever -

Obama to blink first on Social Security
By: Robert Kuttner

The tax deal negotiated by President Barack Obama and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky is just the first part of a multistage drama that is likely to further divide and weaken Democrats.

The second part, now being teed up by the White House and key Senate Democrats, is a scheme for the president to embrace much of the Bowles-Simpson plan — including cuts in Social Security. This is to be unveiled, according to well-placed sources, in the president’s State of the Union address.

The idea is to pre-empt an even more draconian set of budget cuts likely to be proposed by the incoming House Budget Committee chairman, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), as a condition of extending the debt ceiling. This is expected to hit in April.

White House strategists believe this can also give Obama “credit” for getting serious about deficit reduction — now more urgent with the nearly $900 billion increase in the deficit via the tax cut deal.

How to put this politely? For a Democratic president, this approach is bad economics and worse politics.

Did Democratic voters put Obama into office to cut deals with Republicans to end Social Security, Medicare, and the New Deal and Great Society programs that are the last wall between hundreds of millions of Americans falling into poverty, living on the streets and eating out of dumpsters.

A caller on CSpan last month asked Richard Wolffe (out plugging his latest book written from his special access to the Obama White House) if we're ever going to get a public option to keep healthcare costs down.

Wolffe made it clear that Obama and the DLC-controlled Democrats never had any intention of going with a public option or expanding public healthcare in any way (although Wolffe is mistaken when he says that Obama never ran on supporting a public option).

Not only did Obama campaign on "a public option", he campaigned on single payer, universal health care.

Here's a campaign ad featuring Obama himself.  See the part where he says he has a plan to "cover everyone'? That's 'universal coverage'. There's even a graphic in the ad that says "The Obama Plan - UNIVERSAL coverage for all Americans".

Obama ran against mandates, and criticized Hillary for them in her campaign promises. Here is Candidate Obama on mandates.

Here again -- Obama campaigned on public option.

No, this was the following night, when O'Donnell invited Grayson back and did a very public mea culpa and apologized to Grayson for acting like a horse's @$$.
