Obama Gulf Coast Visit: 'Things Will Return To Normal' (VIDEO)

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

If the GOP puts Palin in as the Nominee and Obama wins reelection (with votes from disaffected Republicans who prefer Obama over Palin because he is more their type of conservative than she is), Obama will move the Democratic Party even farther to the right than he already has.

It is not to the advantage of real Democrats, populists, liberals/progressives, to hope for the Tea Party to consume the Republican Party and wish for Sarah Palin's success in becoming the Republican Party's nominee. Because Obama will be trying to please Republicans to make deals, even more so than he has already been doing.

Obama Gulf Coast Visit: 'Things Will Return To Normal' (VIDEO)

The Teabaggers were where all along?

The Tea Party was an idea borne & fostered by conservative Republicans like Dick Armey and Rupert Murdoch as a way to rebrand conservatism to reignite their anti-tax movement and create a grass roots activist arm of the Republican Party separate from the larger Republican Party with all of its baggage of the past 8 years & Bush-Cheney. Whatever they may say about their roots, that's the fact of who and what they are.

There are 600 Teabaggers nationally. 600 showed up at their first national convention last summer. 600 is a fewer than the numbers of people who show up to rally in Washington to protest cuts to SETI.

Therefore, for any media outlet to give ongoing coverage of Teabaggers is an aberration. You have to ask, "What's in it for them?", because it's certainly not like Teabaggers have any political clout or muscle. With the exception of Scott Brown, where their candidates have won, it's where any conservative Republican would have won.

Tens of thousands of Americans on the left belong to groups and show up regularly and faithfully at cities around the nation to rally against the wars, for choice, for the development of green energy, for Medicare for ALl, etc., and they get no coverage in the media.
