Bill Clinton Says Media Favored Obama Over Hillary Clinton During 2008 Primary (VIDEO)

What the Brits thought was what BushCheney told them, which was a lie.

The single-most important decision that any member of Congress can make is whether to give a president the authority to use military force against another nation.

Hillary claims that she did not discuss her vote to give Bush the AUMF with her husband.  She claims she based her vote on Bush's claim that Iraq had WMD.  We know from the NIE that it wasn't true, and that there were no legal grounds to attack Iraq.  Not only was it illegal, taking Saddam out was bad policy, a bad strategy that would destabilize the entire region, open up a Pandora's box and have us in a quagmire for years and decades.

Bush, no fool he (Bush and Cheney wanted Congress's heads on the line, too, should it all go bad), made that NIE available to all members of Congress.  It was in a locked on the Hill (a table, chair and lamp in the room), an armed guard standing outside.  You had to show your ID as a member of Congress and sign in to enter the room.  Bush wanted a record of it.

Senator Bob Graham, who didn't vote to give Bush the AUMF (Authorization To Use Military Force against Iraq) was one of a handful who availed himself of the opportunity, and went to the room (we can't find out precisely who did read it because the sign-in sheet is classified).

After Graham read it, he  told Hillary that she'd better get herself to the room and read it.  When the existence of the NIE originally became known (during Plamegate) and the little room on the Hill, certain members of Congress were asked if they'd read it before their vote to AUMF.  Hillary said she hadn't.  She said she knew enough about Iraq and didn't have to read the NIE.  She also said that she never discussed her vote or the situation with her husband.

It's important to realize that as a former president, Bill Clinton got the same PDB that George W. Bush got.   He knew Bush was lying us into a war in Iraq, he backed Bush up; still does to this day.   Is anybody seriously going to say that Hillary and her husband didn't know the truth, that Bush and Cheney were about to spend us into servitude, push us into third world nation status, all the while the Clintons were making HUNDREDS of millions from hedge funds?

Matt Damon Slams Obama, Democrats: 'One Term President With Some Balls Would Have Been Better'

In another Word document, one of the team spells out how automation can work so one person can be many personas:

Using the assigned social media accounts we can automate the posting of content that is relevant to the persona.  In this case there are specific social media strategy website RSS feeds we can subscribe to and then repost content on twitter with the appropriate hashtags.  In fact using hashtags and gaming some location based check-in services we can make it appear as if a persona was actually at a conference and introduce himself/herself to key individuals as part of the exercise, as one example.  There are a variety of social media tricks we can use to add a level of realness to all fictitious personas

It goes far beyond the mere ability for a government stooge, corporation or PR firm to hire people to post on sites like this one. They're talking about creating  the illusion of consensus. And consensus is a powerful persuader. What has more effect, one guy saying BP isn't at fault, or 20 people saying it? For the weakminded, the number can make all the difference.

Matt Damon Slams Obama, Democrats: 'One Term President With Some Balls Would Have Been Better'

Why are people being so harsh on the son of a teacher, who campaigned for Obama in part because he didn't like the education policies of Bush?

====================================

Because they're paid to.

Treat the online support for Obama with suspicion:
[t]here is a leaked email that has gotten surprisingly little attention around here. It's the one where AaronBarr discusses his intention to post at DailyKos - presumably something negative about Anonymous, the hacking group. But that's not the email I'm talking about here.

HBGary people are talking about creating "personas", what we call sockpuppets. This isn't new. PR firms have been using fake "people" to promote products and other things for a while now, both online and even in bars and coffee houses.

But for a defense contractor with ties to the federal government, HuntonAndWilliams, DOD, NSA, and the CIA -  whose enemies are labor unions, progressive organizations,  journalists, and progressive bloggers,  a persona apparently goes far beyond creating a mere sockpuppet.

According to an embedded MSWord document found in one of the HBGary emails, it involves creating an army of sockpuppets, with sophisticated "persona management" software that allows a small team of only a few people to appear to be many, while keeping the personas from accidentally cross-contaminating each other. Then the team can actually automate some functions so one persona can appear to be an entire BrooksBrothers riot online.

Matt Damon Slams Obama, Democrats: 'One Term President With Some Balls Would Have Been Better'

In his book The Audacity of Hope, Obama presented himself as the latest in a long line of corporate, Democrats, interested in tinkering with the system but largely agreeing with the consensus on free markets, free trade, and US. military power.

As the February 2011 cover story in TIME explains, Obama even agrees with many of the fundamentals of Reaganism, telling reporters, "What Reagan ushered in was a skepticism toward government solutions to every problem. I don't think that has changed." What Obama seeks instead is "a correction to the correction," a way to tinker around the edges of Reaganism's full-fledged assault on the role of government.

As Roger Hodge points out in his recent book, The Mendacity of Hope, "Obama praises Clinton for putting a 'progressive slant on some of Reagan's goals,' by which he presumably means Clinton's wholesale adoption of the Republican economic agenda, from passing NAFTA to cutting taxes, gutting the welfare system, and embracing the rhetoric of small government".

There really would have been no difference between another Clinton administration (this time with Hillary, who was and is to Bill's right) and an Obama administration.

People forget that Clinton set up much of what BushCheney managed to do with legislation like the Telecommunications Act of 1996, the Welfare Reform Act, assaults on civil liberties, etc.

And just as Republicans paralyzed any Clinton in the last years of his term from being able to deliver to the People, it would be deja vu all over again given the schemes that Bill Clinton has been involved in since leaving the White House.

In his book The Audacity of Hope, Obama presented himself as the latest in a long line of corporate, Democrats, interested in tinkering with the system but largely agreeing with the consensus on free markets, free trade, and US. military power.

There really isn't any difference between the parties, only in their style and how they go about achieving the same ends.

Obama Calls Boehner To Press Him On Payroll Tax Cut Extension

“The staunchest supporters of Social Security are those pushing the hardest to cut the program's chief financing stream—the payroll tax. Severing the link between payroll taxes and benefits means beneficiaries could no longer claim they ‘earned’ their Social Security benefits. This would erode future support for this vital program."

-Jason Fichtner
Former Social Security Administration Deputy Commissioner

And Charles Blahous, who currently serves as one of the two public trustees for the Social Security and Medicare Programs, says:

“Social Security was not established to be a source of ‘temporary’ stimulus funds. The idea that its payroll tax rate should be moved up and down with economic events is highly dangerous to the program’s financial future.

"If Congress continues to cut the program’s funding source, one of two things must happen: 1) Social Security’s insolvency will be accelerated; or 2) Social Security will have to increasingly rely on general revenues (i.e., income taxes) to pay beneficiaries.”

The Argument Against Marijuana

Of the 47,000 teens surveyed across the country, 1 in 4 said they used marijuana during the last year, up from 21.4% percent in 2007. One in 15 of the oldest high school students polled said they used the drug daily or almost daily, the highest rate in three decades.

============================================

Since criminalizing marijuana, use has increased.

Bill Clinton Says Media Favored Obama Over Hillary Clinton During 2008 Primary (VIDEO)

Hillary Clinton ran to Obama's RIGHT.  Hillary's ideologically to the right of her husband, a corporate stooge who set the stage for what BushCheney and now Obama have done.

She and her husband helped to co-found the DLC (the corporate, fascist, rightwing branch of the Democratic Party).

A Hillary presidency would have had its own set of obstacles, first and foremost, an obstructionist Republican Party in Congress stymieing the Clintons the same way it had in the 1990s, but on a whole new number of charges of corruption, like Clinton's $100+ million payday, his connection to Ron Burkle and Clinton's post-presidential womanizing (Belinda Stronach, among others).
