You cannot say whatever you want to say on the public air waves.



She knows that.



She gave an insincere apology last week, and when it proved not enough to save her show, she got out in front of the story that was sure to break by this coming Friday ("Dr. Laura Fired") and is trying save herself some future in the radio industry by saying it's her choice.



I suspect she's trying to put together something on SIRIUS, but I don't think her fans are SIRIUS subscribers. Or like her enough to want to pay to hear her.

She could have made her point, such as it was, had she used an equivalent word that she "owned", that applied to her. Like the k-word (she's Jew!sh). The result probably would have been the same (losing her show).



But she wouldn't have done that (offered the k-word for everyone to use) because as a narcissistic personality disorder she doesn't recognize others' feelings are as important as her own.

As resources become even scarcer in the US, much less the world, you're going to be seeing the breakdown of this society take place over the course of weeks, not even years. Just in the past 10 years, because of 9/11, laws were put into place to criminalize behaviors that have nothing to do with terr0rism, but anticipated this breakdown in culture and the scarcity of goods.



Prison itself is now a growth industry. Privatized, with shares being traded on the stock exchange. No guarantee of Constitutional rights being upheld because the government won't be running them. Bologna sandwiches on Wonder white bread twice a day. Next to no medical treatment. Overcrowded cells (even now, your space is 6'x8'x3').



Liberals have been trying to tell you about it.

More men are raped in the US than women.



And that's who this article is talking about. Men being raped in prison.



I think that is one reason why the DoJ and Holder (in spite of being male) exhibit no sense of urgency, because it's a sex crime against men. Whether it's about Holder and other men at the DoJ being unconscious about the crime of rape (not wanting to think about men being violated by other men, for so many reasons) or something else (that to many men, all sexual activity is wanted sexual activity), their failure to act on this affects all of our lives.

What you're suggesting is solitary confinement, 24/7. Human beings lose their minds from solitary confinement; we are social animals. We actually require contact with others, and it's from social contact that we learn how to behave in the world with others. Most people who are convicted of crimes and incarcerated will be released back into society with the rest of us. We had better help them use the time that they're locked up to prepare them for that return.

And where you stand on abortion. And corporations paying taxes.



Do you know that BP is sending the waste from the spill in the Gulf to landfills in the US, most of which are located in the areas where the poorest Americans reside. The toxic waste from these landfills leech into the water, and poison the residents. Chronic illnesses result, birth defects, no insurance, no jobs, etc.



Liberals have been trying to inform the public about the dangers of deregulation, of privatizing, of cutting taxes on the rich and the corporations.
