Michael Bennet Asked To Lead DSCC By Harry Reid

Saturday, November 13, 2010

The sooner that Michael Bennet is replaced by a REAL Democrat, the better. Bennet is a conservative Democrat. He was one of the 'Gang of 18' (the Susan Collins-Ben Nelson group, which included Evan Bayh, Kent Conrad, Mary Landrieu, Joe Lieberman) that stripped tens of billions of dollars from the stimulus package. He's also been active in watering down climate change legislation - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/wade-norris/did-colorado-sen-michael_b_440960.html More 'Michael Bennets' are not what we need, and that's what the job of the DSCC does -- Recruit.

Michael Bennet Asked To Lead DSCC By Harry Reid

I don't think you have any idea what the head of the DNC's job is.

It's mainly coordinating fundraising and election strategy.

How do you figure that Russ Feingold is the man for that job?

Bush: 'I Miss Being Pampered' Post-Presidency

I don't he has any intention of turning it around.  He's going through with keeping Bush's tax cuts.
Do you know that if they just let Bush's tax cuts expire, the deficit will be cut in half instantly?

Obama and the DLC-controlled Democratic Party are really no different than Republicans.  They're all a bunch of crooked politicians.

Bush: 'I Miss Being Pampered' Post-Presidency

Why is George W. Bush being allowed to crawl back into polite society to rehabilitate his image and the Bush family name, an spread revisionist history about 9/11?

Why isn't he having to spend 24/7 with his lawyers, working on a way to stay out of prison?

Oh, that's right, I forgot: Because Obama and the DLC-Democrats have blocked all investigations and prosecutions into Bush-Cheney and Republicans, and have allowed them to resurrect themselves and take back control over government.

And because of Obama's failure to restore the Constitution and return us to the rule of law, by holding Bush, Cheney, et al, accountable, JEB Bush was all over the news on election night as the man behind Florida's new Tea Party Senator, Marco Rubio. So expect a Jeb Bush run at the presidency in the not-to-di tant-future. Perhaps with Liz Cheney on the ticket with him.

This is Obama's fault -- The buck stops squarely at his feet.

When Obama came into power, the GOP wasn't on the ropes; it was down for the count because of the devastation that Bush-Cheney had caused the nation. And Obama issued Bush-Cheney and Republicans (essentially) a pardon.  None of them express any remorse or contrition.  As a matter of fact, they're rested and ready for another round of tax cuts for the rich and slicing-and-dicing Social Security, Medicare, and anything else they can get their hands on that would help the People.

And even now, Obama wants to continue to make nice with them, cave some more, water down Democratic values & legislation.

Obama's not any kind of real Democrat; he's a DINO.

And if you didn't like the Republican Party of the last 35 years, the party of Reagan (forget just the past 10), you're going to hate where Obama and the DLC are taking the 'new & improved' Democratic Party from which they hope "to govern for 100 years".

And Friday's release of the chairman of the Deficit Commission's recommendations was the opening salvo for a plan that will get adopted -- Cutting Social Security benefits, raising the age, and privatizing the Social Security trust fund, whole or in part (Democrats have already signaled they're amenable to it).  Obama's already announced that if 14 of the 18 can agree on a plan, he's on board, and there are already more than 14 on the commission that support privatization.

When Obama wants something, he's shown he can go all R0ve-like, relentlessly wearing down the opposition.  The problem is that he and the DLC-controlled Democratic Party don't want what the Democratic voters put them into power to get.

Dan Coats, Senator-Turned-Lobbyist, Headed Back To Senate With Business Victories

I look at the fact of a Dan Coates as a Democratic failure.  They came into office with the wind at their backs in 2006, and then in 2008, with a clear mandate to end these cozy, incestu0us relationship between Big Business and our government, and they refused.  Democrats haven't done a thing about campaign finance and election reform either.

Democrats are in the same business as Republicans: To serve the Corporate Masters.

I suggest that you consider Democrats and Republicans as working on the same side, as tag relay teams (or like siblings competing for parental approval). 'Good cop/bad cop'. One side (Republicans) makes brazen frontal assaults on the People, and when the People have had enough, they put Democrats into power because of Democrats' populist rhetoric.

Once in power, Democrats consolidate Republicans' gains from previous years, and continue on with Republican policies but renamed, with new advertising campaigns. They throw the People a few bones, but once Democrats leave office, we learn that those bones really weren't what We, the People thought they were.

Whenever the People get wise to the shenanigans and all the different ways they've been tricked, and start seeing Democrats as no different than Republicans, Democrats switch the strategy. They invent new reasons for failing to achieve the People's business.

Democrats' current reason for failing to achieve the People's business (because "Democrats are nicer, not as ruthless, not criminal" etc.) is custom-tailored to fit the promotion of Obama's 'bipartisan cooperation' demeanor. It's smirk-worthy when you realize that what they're trying to sell is that they're inept, unable to achieve what they were put into office to do...And their ineptitude, that's "a good thing".

To those who yawn, and dismiss this as old news:

A secret history of the United States government’s Nazi-hunting operation concludes that American intelligence officials created a “safe haven” in the United States for Nazis and their collaborators after World War II, and it details decades of clashes, often hidden, with other nations over war criminals here and abroad.
Even if it had been true that was no new information being reported, why would anybody discourage others, younger generations who perhaps didn't know of the US's involvement in importing N@z!s into the country?

U.S. Gave Ex-Nazis 'Safe Haven,' According To DOJ Report

The Justice Department has resisted making the report public since 2006. Under the threat of a lawsuit, it turned over a heavily redacted version last month to a private research group, the National Security Archive, but even then many of the most legally and diplomatically sensitive portions were omitted.

[...]

The Nazi-hunting report was the brainchild of Mark Richard, a senior Justice Department lawyer. In 1999, he persuaded Attorney General Janet Reno to begin a detailed look at what he saw as a critical piece of history, and he assigned a career prosecutor, Judith Feigin, to the job. After Mr. Richard edited the final version in 2006, he urged senior officials to make it public but was rebuffed, colleagues said.

When Mr. Richard became ill with cancer, he told a gathering of friends and family that the report’s publication was one of three things he hoped to see before he died, the colleagues said. He died in June 2009, and Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. spoke at his funeral.

“I spoke to him the week before he died, and he was still trying to get it released,” Ms. Feigin said. “It broke his heart.”

After Mr. Richard’s death, David Sobel, a Washington lawyer, and the National Security Archive sued for the report’s release under the Freedom of Information Act. The Justice Department initially fought the lawsuit, but finally gave Mr. Sobel a partial copy — with more than 1,000 passages and references deleted based on exemptions for privacy and internal deliberations.

Laura Sweeney, a Justice Department spokeswoman, said the department is committed to transparency, and that redactions are made by experienced lawyers.

The full report disclosed that the Justice Department found “a smoking gun” in 1997 establishing with “definitive proof” that Switzerland had bought gold from the Nazis that had been taken from Jewish victims of the Holocaust. But these references are deleted, as are disputes between the Justice and State Departments over Switzerland’s culpability in the months leading up to a major report on the issue.

Big Stock Offerings Next Week Could Boost Markets

I don't know about Abstractlmp, but I'm enraged.

But it could prove frustrating for retail investors who want to get in on the deal. The U.S. government has said that smaller investors will be able to participate in the offering of General Motors, which was rescued from near-collapse by taxpayer bailouts worth a combined $51 billion, but brokerages that sell to smaller investors including Charles Schwab and Scottrade aren't taking part in the offering.

Fidelity has an agreement with GM underwriter Deutsche Bank to sell shares to retail investors, said spokesman Steve Austin. But to place an order, investors must have at least $500,000 in assets with Fidelity, make 36 trades a year or be a premium investor, which normally is for high net-worth clients, Austin said.

Treasury spokesman Mark Paustenbach would not comment on small investors' access to the GM sale.

The greatest heist in the history of the world continues, more Americans are winding up like this, and Obama intends to cave on extending Bush's tax cuts, when IN FACT, if Congress let the Bush tax cuts lapse, the deficit would be cut IN HALF, immediately.

To have made such a stup!d comment, you've got to have been raised by Auschw!tz guards.

Cindy McCain Reverses Course On 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

I think if you want to be in the public eye, it shouldn't only be at those times when it suits you, when you want to be out front and center.  You should have to face trial by fire (if you ever want to be in the public eye again), and be called on and show up whenever your 'area of expertise' is in the news.

This is one of the problems with having news conflated with entertainment.

House Democrats Avert Leadership Struggle By Accommodating Steny Hoyer & James Clyburn

Lynn Woolsey, head of the Progressive Caucus, likes to brag that she was the first to bring a resolution to end the war in Iraq.  She, and congressional Democrats, and Obama, ran on ending the practice of paying for the wars through supplemental emergency spending bills, and putting the wars on budget (see why that is significant here).

Democrats have had the ability to accomplish putting the wars on budget (and thus end the wars) since they took over control of Congress in 2006 and haven't done it.  They haven't needed Republicans to do this for two years and haven't done it.

As the head of the Progressive Caucus, Lynn Woolsey led 79 of the 82 members of the caucus to pledge that they would not vote for any healthcare reform legislation that didn't include a public option.

Woolsey then led the 79 to renege on the pledge.

Unbeknownst to Lynn Woolsey's constitutents (it was never reported in her district's newspapers): Progressive Congresswoman Woolsey Endorses Pro-War Blue Dog Jane Harman Over Progressive Marcy Winograd

Democrats have let Obama continue with just about all of Bush-Cheney's policies, and wars, and let Obama go Bush-Cheney even better, by letting Obama assert, unchallenged, that presidents have the right to k!ll Americans with no due process or oversight, push for 'preventive detention' and no transparency of anything a president asserts should be his secret.

Democrats have abdicated their Constitutionally-required role of oversight of the executive branch; they failed to perform it during the Bush-Cheney administration, and still don't with one of their own in the White House.

Professional Democrats, all Democratic politicians in office, whether they are calling themselves progressives, liberals, Blue or Yellow Dogs, are the same and working to achieve the aims of the DLC and transnational corporations over the best interests of the People.  If they are a professional political and member of the Democratic Party, and in Washington, they have bought into and are supporting the culture of transnational corporations as their real constituents.

Their only problem with this is that corporations don't vote, and politicians need votes to get into office.  So they, Democratic politicians, try to convince the People they're working on our behalf with weasel-words, rhetoric designed to lead voters into thinking one thing when the opposite is true.  Obama can say, "I got health insurance for the People", but having health insurance isn't what Americans wanted and isn't what Democratic voters put Obama and Democrats into power to get for them.  Having health insurance isn't the same thing as everyone being able to get affordable, quality medical treatment.

What's the big accomplishment of getting 420 pieces of legislation passed in one chamber of Congress but not the other?  It only becomes law when both chambers pass it.

Democrats in both chambers of Congress work as a team. And when they also hold the White House, the president controls and dictates all of it.  They identify what they hope to achieve (pro-corporate legislation) and then strategize how to get it while saving each other's hides with constituents come election time.

Those in liberal districts get to talk a good game about being champions of the People, but when push comes to shove, if their votes are needed to cross over and k!ll liberal legislation (like a public option or access to ab0rtion), the DNC will make sure they are covered come election time, with massive infusions of money into their campaign war chests and crushing any principled challenges to them from the left in their primaries.

Here's an example of how they tag team us:

Trying to change the (DLC-controlled) Democratic Party's congressional leadership is like trying to break up mercury and keep the droplets apart.  The DLC-controlled leadership is like the Terminator, working against the People, working against getting corporate interests out of government, and against getting real reforms into place.

I'm convinced that the only solution to getting the nation back on track and out of the hands of the oligarchs (if it's even possible at this point) is going to have to come from outside of the Democratic Party.

Bill Clinton Praises George Bush's Book

Clinton is responsible for the pile he was in. I admire his ability to keep showing up. ========================================= What you're admiring is a characterological disorder. He's a narcissist; he doesn't recognize that he did anything wrong, so why wouldn't he show up? Clinton believes he's owed an apology. The damage that Bill Clinton did to the nation, at large, and Democrats, in particular, should have him spending the rest of his life working for redemption. Clinton, co-founded the pro-corporate, 'Republican wing of the Democratic Party' (the DLC). He signed onto the Republican vision of privatization and deregulation of the US, gutting civil rights & privacy protections for Americans, eliminating social safety nets for Americans (and Glass Steagle). He used the office of the presidency as the means to amass a private fortune (only $100 million of it is public and known about -- Much more apparently exists as a result of his dealings, secret, with Ron Burkle in hedge funds) while hanging Americans out to dry. Clinton's s3xual escapades in the White House led directly to ushering Bush-Cheney into office; we never should have fallen on our swords to protect him from impeachment. We should have cut our losses, but instead we showed him the loyalty that he and the DLC have never shown Democratic voters.

Bill Clinton Praises George Bush's Book

There's a lot of ground between "praise" and saying it's a terrible book, including and most obvious, "I haven't read it; no comment."

Clinton released a statement about it.  That's an endorsement.  Clinton is trying to help rehabilitate George W. Bush.

After the 2008 election, Bush and Cheney and the GOP were not just on the mat but they were down for the count.  And Obama effectively issued them a pardon by blocking investigations and prosecutions, and by refusing to act on the momentum of his stupendous victory (more people voted for Obama, a black man in good old r@c!st America than had voted for any other presidential candidate in US history), choosing instead to slow everything down to "work in a bipartisan manner" with Republicans who wanted his and Democrats' downfall.

Would you like another BUSH-CHENEY (Jeb and Liz) administration?

Bill Clinton Praises George Bush's Book

Democratic voters, for the most part, still haven't finished their love affair with Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush's "best friend" and partner in advancing the move to a "new world order".

Most Democratic voters think the Clintons are liberals.  Most Democrats don't know that the Clintons co-founded the DLC; most Democratic voters have no idea what the DLC is.

Just like the real debate & assessment of Reagan that's never happened, we've never assessed Clinton's true legacy. Eliminating the social welfare safety nets, Glass-Steagle, the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, rendition, privatization, the sanctions & daily bombing of Iraq (& so much more) laid the foundation for what BushCheney did to decimate the country. As AlanGreenspan said, "Bill Clinton was the best Republican president we've had in a while."

The Clintons benefitted greatly from the repeal of Glass-Steagall (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), which Bill Clinton signed into law at the end of his administration, and what's behind the economic meltdown.  He made $100 million in the last ten years, and much more than that (unknown, secret, which is the nature of hedge funds) from his dealings with Yucaipa and Ron Burkle.

In the weeks before the midterms elections, when Bill Clinton was campaigning for candidates in states where Obama's popularity is in the tank, not one reporter asked Clinton any question of substance (including  his signing Gramm-Leach-Bliley, which repealed Glass-Steagall, and he would do all over again if he had the chance).

This is another reason for why there have to be investigations and prosecutions into the collapse of our economy and the 'preemptive wars' policies -- Obama has to stop blocking these processes, because we can't go forward without looking back.  We cannot make wise decisions, not about policies and not about the politicians we need to make these policies and lead us without knowing what the h3ll happened.

Once Americans learn the role of both parties, and who these politicians really are and who they're aligned with, they will understand that both political parties are corrupt to the core and that the solution for our political and financial woes can only come from OUTSIDE of these parties.
