All good liberals did criticize Bush's excessive amount of time off in Crawford, as did the media.



It's more exasperating now, being that we're in a Depression and an entire region of our nation that relies on tourist dollars to survive has been destroyed, and both Obamas made appeals to Americans to spend their vacations in that region and support the American economy.



Many liberal Democrats consider Obama's a tone deaf presidency. I don't think it's as tone deaf as it is arrogant and deceptive. The Obamas are DINOs and not as sympathetic to We The People as their most ardent supporters have believed them to be.

The trips that you're talking about that Laura Bush took were official visits and not a vacation which questions about the trip were dismissed as nobody's business because it's personal.

This country has been conducting two wars over the last nine years, and unless you have a military member in your family, none of us has had to sacrifice a dam*ed thing. No rationing, almost no volunteering for military aid services, nothing.

We've sacrificed our future. We've sacrificed our lifestyles, our American way of life.



Who do you think is paying for these wars?



These wars are being paid with money borrowed in our names. Services are being cut from every state and federal government agency. Police, firefighters and teachers are being laid off. Fire & police stations and schools are being closed. Schools & post offices are operating on shortened work weeks. Governments are not only shutting off street and traffic lights to save on electricity, they're also bulldozing roads into gravel because they can't afford to maintain them.



We're in a Depression, but Michelle Obama is living the high life on what little money Americans have to pay for services for themselves.

I don't think anyone on this site has decided to forego their vacation plans in support of the unemployed.

I just got back from vacation, and I did forego a trip overseas because of the economy.



That's our money she spent, and it does no good for our economy when it's spent in Spain.



Just out of curiosity, where did you go on your vacation? What job do you have that you're so secure it will be there if the economy doesn't revive quickly?

If she shopped at Walmart and vacationed at the Motel 6 she would have the same security detail.

Would the American taxpayer be spending $95,000 in per diems for the SS, or who knows how much in per diems for staff accompanying her?



Would the American taxpayer be spending over $200,000 for her transportation to and during her vacation?



Or $10,000 per day for hotel accommodations for her vacation?



She's only reimbursing $15,000 for the plane trip.
