If you knew that 9/11 was a black flag operation, an inside job set up by the CIA for the purpose of getting oil, & that AlQaeda was fiction, a creation of the CIA, would you support one more moment of these wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen, Somalia, etc.?

OsamaBinLaden isn't in Afghanistan, if OsamaBinLaden is alive at all, or even had anything to do with 9/11. He's not wanted by the FBI for having anything to do with 9/11. He's on their wanted list in connection with the August 7, 1998 bombings of the US embassies in DarEsSalaam, Tanzania & Nairobi, Kenya -- "These attacks killed over 200 people. In addition, BinLaden is a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world." The FBI has no evidence connecting him to 9/11 -- http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/fugitives/laden.htm

Think about that.

CandidateObama's talk about escalating the war in Afghanistan was retrospective, in context of when Afghanistan was relevant with regard to 9/11, when the US military let OsamaBinLaden & AlQaeda escape from ToraBora over the mountains into Pakistan.

CandidateObama always framed Afghanistan in terms of the past, & was always equivocal about what he would do as president, because "nobody can predict what conditions on the ground & in the world would be like after 1/20/09". Obama left it up to listeners to infer whatever they wanted, believe whatever they needed to believe about him in order to get their votes.

Obama also campaigned on no mandate for health insurance.

Obama did not so much campaign on escalating the Afghanistan war but on a foreign policy focused on expanded diplomacy. Once in office, when MacChrystal lobbied him for another 40,000 troops, Obama spent 3 months allegedly studying and reviewing our Afghan strategy and plans. The impression left was that Obama could go either way -- He could satisfy MacChrystal or he could bring all of the troops out and end the wars.

It was a typically deceptive move on Obama's part. I don't think there was ever any question of his desire and determination to continue where Bush left off, but that's not what his administration told the media.

Candidate Obama's talk about Afghanistan, his support for war in Afghanistan, was always framed in terms of the past. And Candidate Obama was always equivocal about what he would do as president, because "nobody can predict what conditions on the ground and in the world would be like after 1/20/09".

Now we know that Obama is an agent of the Establishment Elites.

'Hijacking Catastrophe' (a 2004 documentary):

"The war in Iraq was very very clearly about oil, as was the war in Afghanistan. The oil pipeline that was planned (in Afghanistan), the best security for that was an occupation."

"If you map the proposed pipeline route across Afghanistan and you look at our bases? Matches perfectly. Our bases are there to solve a problem that the Taliban couldn't solve. Taliban couldn't provide security in that part of Afghanistan -- Well now that's where our bases are. So, does that have to do with Osama Bin Laden? It has nothing to do with Osama Bin Laden. It has everything to do with the longer plan, in this case a strategy which I wouldn't necessarily call neoconservative, however it fits perfectly in with the neoconservative ideology which says, 'If you have military force and you need something from a weaker country, then you need to deploy that force and take what you need because your country's needs are paramount'. It's the whole idea of unilateralism, of using force to achieve your aims."

Gulf Oil Spill: BP Says Time For 'Scaleback' Of Cleanup Efforts

KAUFMAN: Well, we‘ve seen anecdotal information of mammals in the water, like dolphins, bleeding from their orifices; some of the workers who have done the spill cleanup are having the same problem. The dispersant and oil mixtures are supposed to atomize materials like oil. Well, if that gets into your system, that atomizes your cells, and that‘s why there‘s hemorrhaging.

So, there‘s anecdotal information both down there in the Gulf, similar to the anecdotal information at the Exxon Valdez case almost 20 years ago.

O‘DONNELL: What is the best scientific approach from this point forward?

KAUFMAN: Well, right now, we‘re very limited. We‘ve got hundreds of millions of gallons of oil spread out, mixed with 2 million gallons of dispersant. And so, what we have to do is accurately monitor the air and water and be very careful with the seafood. But we‘ve now poisoned thousands of square miles of the Gulf and we have to recognize that and take precautions so that we minimize the damage that we have done.

O‘DONNELL: Now, were you and others at the EPA making this case within the system, that—arguing that we shouldn‘t be using dispersants there? And what was the response?

KAUFMAN: Well, the working level troops in research, some of the toxicologists who have experience and education, were trying to get management to pay attention to the data that EPA had and has had for decades, but to no avail. There was a political decision made to let BP take the lead as opposed to the government being proactive, as we used to be.

O‘DONNELL: Now, when you say a political decision, are you saying that that decision was made by EPA administer, Lisa Jackson, a Barack Obama appointee? Or was it made outside of the EPA?

KAUFMAN: The decision was made outside of the EPA, by political appointees. But I don‘t have the vision to see how high up that was made. My vision is limited, because I‘m in the middle of the bureaucracy.

O‘DONNELL: And what evidence is there that the dispersants are doing the kind of damage that you‘re talking about?

Gulf Oil Spill: BP Says Time For 'Scaleback' Of Cleanup Efforts

KAUFMAN: Well, first of all, the dispersants mixed with the oil and the water is extremely toxic. Sweden has done studies on this. Israel has done studies on this.

And the only real purpose of using so many dispersants with the oil was to cover up the volume of oil that was released from that well. So, that and lying about how much is coming out was a mechanism to help BP save billions of dollars in fines.

O‘DONNELL: Should they have not used dispersants at all?

KAUFMAN: That‘s correct. If they did not use dispersants, they would have been able to get most of that oil off of the surface and would not have endangered all of the fish and ecosystem underneath the water that now will be affected for decades on down the line.

I was listening to some of the, quote, “experts” who are being paid by BP at universities who are saying that the oil has disappeared. It hasn‘t disappeared. It‘s throughout thousands of square miles in the Gulf, mixed with dispersants, and because the temperatures down there are so cold, they‘re going to be around for decades.

O'DONNELL: And while Jane Lubchenco, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, says the oil is becoming harder to find, the Natural Resources Defense Council‘s annual report on beaches found no downturn in the number of beach closures or advisories since the spill was capped. The NRDC reports that the number of beach closures and advisories this year, 2,200, is roughly 10 times more than last year. And it predicts that the impact will last for years.

And in a cable news exclusive, that whistle-blower we mentioned joins us now. EPA senior policy analyst, Hugh Kaufman, is a veteran and legend of the agency, having had a hand in Love Canal and the creation of the Superfund and helped expose the EPA cover-up of air quality at ground zero.

Mr. Kaufman, what should we know about the dispersants used in the Gulf that the EPA isn‘t telling us?

O‘DONNELL: Today is day 100 of the crisis in the Gulf of Mexico, and a whistle-blower has come forth from the Environmental Protection Agency, charging the EPA with helping BP to downplay the environmental impact of its supposed cleanup efforts. You will meet him in a moment.

But if the cleanup has been compared to letting the criminal clean up the crime scene—we begin our fourth story tonight with news about the cops.

“The Washington Post” reports that federal agents who call themselves the BP squad are investigating whether BP, Transocean, or Halliburton, even before the blowout, lied to regulators, obstructed justice, or faked the test results for their equipment—including the blowout preventer that, needless to say, failed to prevent a blowout. Specifically, sources told “The Post,” investigators are asking whether inspectors at the Minerals Management Agency went easy on the rig and why.

BP, yesterday, revealed that it is now the subject of an investigation by the SEC, Securities and Exchange Commission, into something—no word yet on exactly whether that is related to the spill.

*BREAKING*

Wal-Mart closes seafood counters in some Fla. stores, but continues fresh seafood sales

JULY 29TH, 2010

DESTIN — A Wal-Mart spokesman said Thursday that the discount giant is closing fresh seafood counters at some but not all of its Florida superstores but that it continues to sell seafood at all of its stores.

"We remain committed to Florida seafood distribution," said Daniel Morales, media director for Wal-Mart South based in Houston, Texas.

The decision to close seafood counters in some stores was based on consumer demand in individual stores and is part of a process Wal-Mart conducts with all products in determining the best use of space, Morales said.

Even in the stores where the counters were closed, fresh seafood continues to be stocked in other storage areas such as refrigerators or freezers.

He said the closures had nothing to do with the BP oil spill.

"This goes way before the oil spill," Morales said.”

The US government, this Constitutional democracy, was never meant to work clandestinely, to work under cover of secrecy and in shadows. Obama ran on sunlight and transparency, and he immediately slammed the doors shut. Not even Bush-Cheney had the nerve to prosecute whistleblowers, but prosecute them is what Obama is doing.

It's one thing for you and others of your like-mind to believe as you do and take a back seat with your ungrounded beliefs about the goodness of Obama. But you take an active role in helping the crooks by blocking those of us trying to force Obama & Democrats to live up to their promises. Your unconditional support of Obama enables him to blow off criticism from the Democratic party's base, enables Obama to move farther to the right. He's secure in knowing you will support him no matter what, so he can p@nder to the right, try to win over conservatives. How much more proof of this do you need when David Brooks admits he's an Obama supporter?

Show me one tangible example of Obama's "heart of hearts", trying to bring meaningful change? That he's not another thief in the den, but that he's an honest man in a den of iniquity. Not words, not speech, but one action that leads you to believe in him.

There is not one effort, not one move by anyone in his administration or by Obama himself, to indicate there's any "trap" waiting to be sprung.

All roads to undo, investigate, prosecute, what Obama "inherited", bulldozed by this president. Obama has stood in the way of the legal apparatus as Bush-Cheney&cronies drove off in getaway cars. Obama's actually blocked the way and thrown monkey wrenches into the works to prevent being able to recover assets. All that he has done is enable, no, GUARANTEE that the abuses happen again.

There's no "master plan", no "trap", except to put off the People from the scent of the escaping crooks, prevent the People from being able to right the wrongs, repair the damage, recover what's been stolen from them in the greatest heist in the history of the world, and prevent us from getting back on rule-of-law-footing.

Obama & Democrats were put into power NOT to sell more insurance policies on behalf of the insurance industry, but to get affordable, quality medical treatment and lower drug costs for ALL Americans.

This legislation doesn't do that. It does nothing to bring skyrocketing costs of medical treatment down. And it doesn't cover all.

If you go back now, with your more experienced ear and listen to Obama's speeches and interviews and debates through the campaign, you might notice that his deliberate and halting speaking style was really about lawyer-speak. About being precise to use language that let all sides whose vote he was targeting believe he supported their issues. You may see that it was really an intentionally deceptive technique.

You look at the results, what Obama's achieved on behalf of his biggest contributors (banks, Wall Street, Big Insurance, PhRma), and you think that's just coincidental? Just listen to how Obama's trying to sell his Insurance & Pharmaceutical Industries Giveaway Act: "More people will have health insurance".

Having insurance is NOT the same thing as being able to get or afford medical treatment. With ObamaCare, the overall cost of premiums rise, with increases in deductibles & co-pays. Insurance companies are NOT required to treat pre-existing conditions; they'll only be required to cover people with pre-existing conditions (and even then, they can put it off). Do you understand the distinction in that language? For example, if you've been denied insurance due to a pre-existing condition, they can refuse to pay for treatment of that condition (or anything resulting from that condition), but they'll cover treatment should you cut your hand. After you've reached the deductible, and with co-pays.

There's nothing inexperienced or inept in what Obama's done. Obama's had no problem telling liberals and progressives to sit down, cease and desist going after Blue Dogs while Obama works on silencing the Progressive Caucus in Congress, Dennis Kucinich, Howard Dean (and anyone who criticized his Insurance & PhRma Giveaway Act).

Obama's artfully utilized the language of the same high-priced public relations firms in Washington who worked for Bush & Republicans to confuse Democratic voters into believing legislation written by corporate lobbyists works for the American people. It's just like Bush-speak (except Obama doesn't need a team of speechwriters programming him before speaking in public), with Bush's 'Clear Skies Initiative' (a license to pollute), and 'No Child Left Behind' (a further assault on public education resulting in a worsening in childhood education), etc.

What you attribute to "inexperience" (I guess then you believe he's a liberal), I charge is intentional deception. You imply he's merely inept (and, by extension, all DLC-Democrats); I think he (and the DLC) has been wildly successful at achieving exactly what he (and the DLC) set out to do.

There's nothing in Obama's record to indicate he's anything but a DLC Democrat, a DINO, a Republican-in-Democrats'-clothing. His flip-flop on FISA in June 2008 was a pretty good indicator of his politics and character. Obama's most ardent supporters excused that betrayal, insisting that he was a closet liberal who had to vote that way in order to trick centrists & independents into voting for him in the general election. It's Obama's most ardent followers who were tricked, & are still in denial, for they refuse to acknowledge that Obama has been continuing just about all of Bush's policies, going Bush-Cheney one better on asserting unitary executive powers for himself (preventive detention, murdering Americans without due process or oversight, etc.).

Yes, George W. Bush & DIck Cheney presided over a wildly over-heated & inflated market that didn't create nearly the amount of jobs necessary for full (or anywhere close to full or adequate) employment, as they were robbing Americans blind.

225,000 jobs must be created each and every month in order to keep up with a growing population. I think that happened (that figure, or slightly over) for something like 5 months out of the entire 8 years Bush & Cheney were in office. The population of the US grew by about 22 million during those 8 years, and all Bush was able to create was about 3 million jobs.

Then there's the fortune that Bush borrowed and mismanaged. Hundreds of billions lost, unaccounted for, squandered, p!$$ed away into the pockets of his cronies and who knows where else. Americans' futures, gone because of a drunk neer-do-well who never could wanted to prove something to his daddy.

There's no defending Bush and Cheney. They're war criminals who destroyed the US, financially, morally and spiritually. In the process, a whole lot of people will have died because of them.

At least with McCain, we know who and what we're fighting. Not so with Obama and DLC-Democrats (Republicans-in-Democrats'-clothing).

For you to make such a ridiculous statement means you're ig.no.rant of the fact that Obama has continued just about all of Bush's policies, and even gone Bush-Cheney one better on unitary executive power & the Constitutional abuses we on the left were running around like chickens without heads when Bush-Cheney did it.

Do you really not know or care that Obama is asserting that he has the right to murder American citizens with no due process, no oversight whatsoever? And preventive detention?!?!

All that Obama is is Bush with a more palatable personality to you. It's the same script, recast with a different actor.

You & Obama's other "most ardent supporters" are your own (and all of our) worst enemy. As long as you keep Obama's numbers up, he has absolutely no reason to live up to the reasons you allegedly voted for him (which seems to be that he wasn't John McCain or Sarah Palin). He can take you for granted, & never lose your vote. Any time you waiver in your resolve to support Obama, he or a surrogate mutters, "John McCain" (or Sarah Palin), and you're back in line, on board with anything Obama does.

If ever a president came into office with less political capital, who should have been working in a "bipartisan" manner (and not ramming through his campaign promises of "tax cuts for the rich"), it was Bush. All that Bush should have been allowed to do after the Supreme Court named him to the White House was implement Gore's campaign promises, beginning with paying back what had been stolen from the Social Security trust fund.

The idea that Obama (who came into office with more votes than any previous president, a filibuster-proof Senate, a huge majority in the House) wasted a moment on "bipartisanship" given that Republicans stated straight out that they were going to vote in lockstep against everything he & Democrats proposed AND that two senators of that 60 were on de@th's door (Kennedy & Byrd) should convince everyone that Obama's a DINO, a corporate t00I.

Add to that, the fact that Obama has NEVER used any pressure at all on JoeLieberman (or BenNelson, or BlancheLincoln, or MaryLandrieu, or any BlueDog).

Obama insisted that Lieberman caucus with Democrats & keep the chairmanship of the HomelandSecurity and GovernmentalAffairsCommittee, over REAL Democrats who have served Democratic policy interests. That meant no real investigation into FEMA, into Bush's corrupt inept administration's response to HurricaneKatrina.

Obama DID unleash the attack dogs to go after HowardDean when Dean said ObamaCare was a lousy bill. Dean was then forced back onto the reservation (along with Kucinich for threatening to vote against the bill).

No, you are wrong.

First of all, what you're alluding to is reconciliation. That could be used, too, since ANY bill could be made to affect the budget. You really don't understand these people and what they do when they really want to get something done.

But I'm not even talking about reconciliation.

I'm talking about changing Rule 22, which does NOT have to be done at the beginning of a new Congress (as has been argued). It can be done at any time. See page 6 - http://fpc.state.gov/documents/organization/45448.pdf

There's not just one way (or even two) for Democrats to get bills passed without Republican votes.

The parallel universe in which you live must be very wonderful for you...it lacks honesty, honor, and integrity. Facts really do not matter to you...at all!! Your approach illustrates that your opinion makes your rhetoric truth and fact. And, after your "mini-rant" about POTUS "broken promises", all that you offered was Windfall Profit Taxes on the Gas and Oil Industry? Really?

=====================================

Talk about your rants!

The only "opinion" I included was that Politifact's way of keeping score "is misleading". I explained why and included one (but not the only) example:

Politifact only recognizes 19 broken promises & cuts Obama much slack.

Politifact has gamed its way of measuring Obama's "promisekeeping"; its categories ('NO ACTION', 'IN THE WORKS', 'STALLED' or 'NOT YET RATED) are misleading. Many a campaign promise or pledge (hundreds of them) has been generously placed in these categories to languish.

As Politifact claims, "Once we find action is completed, we rate them 'PROMISE KEPT' 'COMPROMISE' or 'PROMISE BROKEN'". By Politifact's own definition, it enables Obama to keep these issues in limbo for 4 years. Hundreds of issues in limbo for 4 years.

One of many examples of Politifact's gaming its list is that Politifact doesn't even list in its "Promises Broken" category Obama's campaign promise to impose 'Windfall Profits Taxes on the Oil & Gas Industry" - Obama immediately reneged on it once in office, saying, "The prices have now dropped - We'll see about doing that if or when they rise again."

What do you think he's doing?

What's Obama's strategy in letting BP flip off the EPA, & continue dumping millions of gallons of toxic dispersant into the Gulf of Mexico, destroying the Gulf and the food supply? If you don't understand "everything in his timing", how do you know he's got some super secret plan up his sleeve? What could it possibly be?

Or when the left insisted that Obama not dispense the TARP2 monies unless there was transparency & strings attached (to replace the trillions we're down). Or that Obama shouldn't back down from demanding a substantial stimulus up front for job creation because he would only get one shot at it -- The Obama-Emanuel-Geithner-Summers-Bernanke rebuttal was that, if necessary, they could lobby Congress for more. The left reminded everyone that should it be necessary, it would happen exactly at the time of worst political impact for Democrats; at the height of the 2010 campaign.

The memories of 0bots are strikingly short & convenient.

So when you say that you're convinced that Obama will be regarded as "the greatest president in the entire history of our country", I'll resist the temptation to ask what you're smoking & instead ask, "For what?"

The only people who will be able to say that are conservatives like Grover Norquist, who are about to have their dreams realized: Obama's DeficitCommission ending SocialSecurity, Medicare, & all public healthcare programs.

Such as what?

Of the 3 press conferences that Obama has held since he got into office, he's taken approximately 5-6 questions per, on subjects ranging from health care to Afghanistan.

How does, "Were you invited to Chelsea Clinton's wedding?" and "Should Snooki run as mayor of Wasilla?" and "What do you want your legacy to be?" and, "In the last month, what has been the rose and what has been the thorn?" (this is the 2010 version of the much-mocked stock question that Barbara Walters used to ask, "If you were a tree, what kind would you be?"), compare to, "We're learning today that the oil has been gushing as much as five times the initial estimates. What does that tell you and the American people the -- about the extent to which BP can be trusted on any of the information that it's providing, whether the events leading up to this spill, any of their information?"?

Real journalists would have challenged Obama's recitation of his 'accomplishments' with the facts that these weren't accomplishments for the People, so much as they were for the corporations.

2011 Economic Growth Looking Bleak: AP Survey

One cannot be sure if what we are viewing is a carefully orchestrated strategy to bring about the pre-election described change environment, or if in fact, Mr. Obama is deep in the Kool-Aid of cautious and corporate indoctrination that allowed him to become president in a corrupt system of entrenched manipulative interests and selfishness.

We're back to 'Obama, the genius 3D chess player'?

How is it that anything he's done in the last two years (his FISA flip-flop included) part of a super secret strategy leading to a populist revolutionary change?

How do you imagine it playing out?

Now imagine had Obama, Harry Reid, and the DLC-controlled Democratic Party had put the same sort of energy into single payer universal health care or a public option that they've put into prevailing over Angle & Teabaggers in Nevada.

Why won't Obama face serious journalists and answer questions?

I'd like to see Obama face a panel with Amy Goodman, Laura Flanders, Matt Taibbi, Jeremy Scahill, Rachel Maddow, Danny Schechter, Greg Mitchell, Seymour Hersh, Thom Hartmann, Glen Greenwald, Jane Hamsher, and a few others.

Obama avoids facing serious and in-depth questioning by professional journalists with extensive knowledge and education in foreign and domestic policy and history, in favor of this s!IIy low-brow fluff.

Why wouldn't Obama's most ardent supporters want to see him in a venue more worthy of the intellect they believe he possesses?

The ig.norance of Obamab0ts is tragic.

You, Darcy64, may just be learning of it today, but the fact that a banned and toxic dispersant was allowed to destroy our food supply isn't news.

And I can post a transcript of the ridiculous, softball questions that were asked of Obama, that satisfy you and other mouthbreathers like you.

Since you think so highly of Obama, why wouldn't you want to see him in a venue more worthy of the intellect you think he possesses? Why do you think he avoids facing serious and in-depth questioning by professional journalists with extensive knowledge and education in foreign and domestic policy and history?

We know that you love him, you want to marry him, abbyrose.

I watched the WHOLE thing. http://abc.go.com/watch/the-view/SH559080/VD5578323/the-view-729

It was empty, self-aggrandizing fluff, with nobody asking questions of any substance or challenging him on any of his assertions.

To go on The View instead of facing serious examination by professional journalists (and not just the corporate w.h.o. r. e.s in the WH press corps) is cow@rdIy.

Why would Obama go on The View to answer questions about Lindsay Lohan and Snooki, instead of facing a full court press conference with journalists asking questions about what he's done regarding the real issues affecting our lives?

Obama is rarely stuck in the Oval Office all day.

His daily schedule is second only to Bush's in lightness. He's in by 10 am, spends most of the day in photo ops and giving fundraising speeches at Democratic Party events. Most Fridays he's off (long weekends at Camp David) and most days he knocks off early and is upstairs at the residence for dinner with the family and a movie (or some recreational event) by 5 pm.

I bet I know more than you do about Obama's schedule, what he does, Washington and the product coming out of his administration and the DLC-controlled Congress.

His itinerary is second in lightness only to Bush's.

His days are spent, primarily, in photo ops and giving speeches to raise money for Democrats. That's been true since the day he got into the White House.

Obama pledged action "On day one ..." and transparency, so that citizens could see what was or wasn't being done. No sooner did he enter office than he slammed the door shut on transparency. He doesn't hold regular press conferences (the last one came from criticism after not having one for almost a year), preferring r!d!culous venues like this one, The View. - Obama has borrowed Bush's style of avoiding scrutiny & questioning. And like Bush, everything that Obama does is purely political -- His days are short, his weekends are long (3-4 day weekends at Camp David), & what time he does spend in the White House & Washington is spent doing PR fluff (throwing out first pitches at baseball games, photo-ops, barbecuing with Bobby Flay, appearing on American Idol, etc.).

This is not leadership -- This is detached corporate shilling.
