Vanity Fair's Sarah Palin Profiler: 'The Worst Stuff Isn't Even In There'

Thursday, September 2, 2010

Which makes the reluctance of the sources for this article all the more understandable.

Remember Joe McGinnis, the author who has been renting the house next door to Sarah Palin, and the de@th threat lobbed at him by the editor of the local town newspaper?

You can't cower in silence and hope bullies like Palin go away. They don't. You have to go after them with everything you've got, and hope that the others who have been bullied are so inspired that they come forward to tell their stories.

This is a lesson we all need to learn. It's what kept Bush and Cheney able to carve away our civil rights protections in the Constitution, and what let them lie us into war. Not a day passed during the Bush administration when I wasn't saying, "What do Bush-Cheney have on this or that person (Jay Rockefeller, Paul Kanjorski, Nancy Pelosi, etc., and now Barack Obama)?"

It would be great if everyone could coordinate their actions, but that's not possible. So you have to prepare your case, and wait for the right moment, the next time that someone comes forward with a story to tell about Palin. Then go public yourself.

In a landfill somewhere in Alaska is a dented, badly battered refrigerator.

The smoking (gun) icebox.

Instead of running for mayor of Wasilla, Levi Johnston could redeem himself in the eyes of Americans if he tracked down that dented cooler.

Or slipped a radio transmitter into Palin's house on one of his visiting days with the kid(s).

Or collected a hair follicle (or swabbed some drool) from Trig for DNA analysis.

If it's money he wants, I'm sure we could set up a trust fund online where donors could send contributions (refundable if it didn't pan out) for irrefutable proof that Trig is not the product of Sarah Palin's womb.

I hope she realizes that she will have to answer questions of substance and actually state her position on policy.

==========================================

Why?

She didn't have to in 2008, the media isn't forcing any of the candidates to do it in 2010, Obama hasn't faced a press conference with a full court media in months.

If she runs, she's going to pageant-walk her way through it. And get away with, too.

I heard the writer of the Vanity Fair article, Michael Joseph Gross, say that he spoke with many people in Wasilla and throughout Alaska who h@te Palin, have terrible things to say about her from first hand experience, but refused to be quoted for his story because they're afraid of her.

But, Gross said, that if she were to become the presidential nominee in 2012, they would come forward and speak out.

Those people need to know that now is the time to come forward. Waiting until she gets the nomination is too late. She would then have much power lined up behind her, and if you afraid of her now, you wouldn't be fighting just against her then as the GOP's nominee. The entire power behind the GOP would be invested in keeping her a credible (as much as is possible with Palin) candidate.

To not come forward now enables her and her supporters to say later, "That's old discredited news!". The GOP got away with that line about Bush and his many foibles and corruptions (drug arrests, TANG).

Oil Platform Explodes In The Gulf Of Mexico Off The Louisiana Coast

If you think Obama and Democrats are doing anything about this, show me where and how.

Democratic politicians have joined with Republicans to lift the moratorium on drilling. Because of jobs, they say. Why aren't they working to pass legislation on building green energy, clean & sustainable, in their region, in their states. FWIW, they're not.

Why aren't they helping their constituents in those industries destroyed by the oil explosion? Why aren't they fighting to get medical care for their constituents who have been made ill from the oil explosion?

Yesterday, MSNBC had another of their free clinics in New Orleans, paid for by viewers. I half expected to see Louisiana's congressional delegation there, on hand. Mary Landrieu, David Vitter, federal or state members of Congress -- None present.

Why haven't any criminal indictments been filed against BP? Eleven people died in the explosion.

Why is BP still allowed to operate in any US territory? Their record has been catastrophic. Fifteen people died in their Texas City operation. Where BP goes, people d!e.

Why are you still defending any of these politicians?

Let's cut to the chase here -- Obama, Democrats in Congress, aren't going to do anything but help the oil industries with damage control of their image.

Offshore drilling will continue and expand off all US coastlines.

BP is still operating in the Gulf of Mexico, and in other of US waters and is embarking on its most dangerous, deepest water drilling project yet in Alaskan waters (where we get most of our seafood, the remaining portion that we don't get from the Gulf of Mexico). http://alaskadispatch.com/dispatches/energy/5533-bp-plans-to-move-ahead-with-offshore-oil-drilling-in-arcticic

The Macando well is still not k!lled, NOAA admits that Corexit bioaccumulates in seafood, seafood is NOT being tested adequately, and oysters are being sold as safe which have had oil found in them.

Yes, Republican svck, but where's Obama? Where are the Democrats?

I wrote that the commission should be disbanded, to which you argued that the commission wouldn't be bi-partisan without Simpson on it.

Did you write this?:

==DON'T BE A FOOL

The commission wouldn't be bi-partisan without a republican

if Obama fires him then he has to find another republican to replace him

and the republicans would filibuster

and then it would only be a big waste of time

Obama hasn't pulled the trigger on veterans benefits

simpson (a republican) made his statement

And the republicans don't support the troops

the republican tea party is too busy dressing up for their costume ball with a dry drunk talk show host beck and palin the quitter to care about the troops==

Kabul Bank Bailout? Mahmoud Karzai, President's Brother, Calls For U.S. To Shore Up Bank

How is it that someone who insists he's a Democrat, "for the people", consistently comes out espousing the positions of the rich elites, the GOPers (or the DLC)?

Real wages have remained stagnant for over 30 years now. It's the People who have created this economy, greased it, with their spending. It's the American worker that created the vibrant economy that made this nation great and rich.

And you mock for the purpose of dismissing the idea that it's the American People who need to be bailed out with their own money. Ysupport giving more of our hard-earned money to the rich (who aren't doing anything with it to benefit Americans here at home, not creating jobs). Come on, admit it, BillLoney, you're a paid plant for the GOP/DLC.

Retire the American People's debt.

I proposed the idea back when HenryPaulson was scaring Congress into thumb-sucking fetal positions about the imminent collapse of the economic system, and lobbying Congress for unlimited powers & money (TARP). I continued proposing the idea when Obama was handing out the 2nd half of TARP, & bailing out GM, & paying cash for clunkers (abzurd program, helping the rich yet again, foreign car makers, while hurting working class & used car dealers), & passing FinanceReformLegislation that doesn't prevent another meltdown.

I kept at it while millions were losing their jobs, their homes, losing their health insurance (& still not having any, despite Obama's great big corporate giveaway to BigInsurance & PhRma), & the economy continues to spiral down.

Now, after WeThePeople are picking up the tab for another unwinnable war so that theDickCheney&Bushes can get transnational gas & oil company dividends from their stock portfolios, the only way that this economy is going to turn around is if the People have money to spend.

Businesses aren't hiring because nobody's buying. Nobody's buying because only the rich have money, & they already buy all that they want & need. That is, by definition, what 'rich' means.

What a radical idea: The People who actually labored & made the money & the great economy we had, & haven't been properly compensated for decades (& ripped off by corrupt politicians of what little they were able to put away for retirement, their children's college, & unforeseen emergencies)

Vanity Fair's Sarah Palin Profiler: 'The Worst Stuff Isn't Even In There'

Ask yourself this:

To whose advantage is it for Sarah Palin to become the GOP nominee for the presidency in 2012?

The answer may help you understand why Obama and Rahm Emanuel went after her and Rush Limbaugh, neither of whom has any official role in the Republican Party, as soon as they got into the White House.

Obama and Emanuel didn't go after the actual Republican leadership (Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, nor even the titular head of the Republican Party, John McCain, as their presidential nominee in the last election). Obama and Rahm Emanuel haven't even gone after Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al. Obama's gone out of his way to PROTECT Bush, and block investigations and prosecutions of the Bush Administration.

Even after it's been reported that Karl R0ve and Jeb Bush are really the power behind the GOP, controlling the Republican Party's resurgence, Obama and Emanuel still make Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh the face of the enemy.

The banks are not lending to the People. The People have no money to spend.

Instead of any banks being bailed out, all Americans should have had their debts retired.

That's how you get the economy going: Retire the People's debt.

But instead of doing that, our government is going to borrow money in the People's name, and keep pumping it into Afghanistan (which actually means into rich Afghans' bank accounts in Dubai and the UAE because that's where they're living).

The commission was formed to provide cover for Obama and Congress when they pass this commission's report into law which is going to slash social services, privatize Social Security, etc.

This commission was formed so that nobody would be accountable.

But our government was set up so that elected officials are to be held accountable for the decisions they make.

This commission never should have come into being, and should be disbanded now.

Kabul Bank Bailout? Mahmoud Karzai, President's Brother, Calls For U.S. To Shore Up Bank

Obama and Democrats ran on ending supplemental military budgets, on putting Bush's wars "on the books".

To date, he and Democrats have not done that.

The wars are still being financed through supplemental bills every few months.

The reason for that is that supplemental bills do not get the scrutiny, the oversight, that putting wars on the budget would.

When wars are put on the budget, Congressional committees get reports on weapons systems being used, the strategy being employed, there is public debate about the plans with benchmarks set and the wars then get Congressional oversight. http://www.ombwatch.org/node/3612

Keeping the wars paid through supplementals keeps everyone, Congress and Obama, unaccountable.

This is how they get away with it.

And we let them do it.

Americans are losing our homes, our Social Security, Medicare, police, firemen, teachers, & going into debt to China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, (even our grandchildren won't be able to pay it off), for wars to protect & increase the riches that Americans don't derive any benefit from (an oil pipeline & mineral riches in Afghanistan, not to mention the oil contracts in Iraq). These are riches that ordinary Americans don't get profits from, but that the Establishment Elites (Dick Cheney & the Bush family among them) all are getting rich(er) from.

Last month, Rachel Maddow walked the dusty, garbage-strewn streets of Afghanistan with RIchard Engel to see what exporting US-style democracy means, and what US nation-building actually builds. Watch this to see where are our tax dollars going, and learn how we are not "nation-building", not making us safer, and not helping the Afghans or building their nation at all (or a democracy). Learn how this has all been just a huge rip-off of the American people:
