Joe McGinniss, Palin Neighbor & Author, Leaving Wasilla To Write Book

Saturday, September 4, 2010

When this story originally broke, it was reported that the owner of the house that McGinniss was renting sought out McGinniss when she heard he was coming to Alaska to do research on a book about Palin, and made him the proverbial offer that he couldn't refuse (a very below market rate of $1500/mo. for renting her 6-bedroom home on the lake). It seems there is bad blood between the owner of the rental and Palin -- Palin stiffed the owner for renovation on the house that Palin wanted done (apparently Palin was renting or was interested in renting the house previously.

McGinniss said that he took the deal so that his wife, children and grandchildren could visit for the 3 months of his stay in Alaska.

SarahPalin has so many people telling her she is just what the country needs, she may forget her own limits.

=======================================

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.

She wants the presidency & she's willing for someone else (a 'kitchen cabinet', like what Reagan had) to tell her what to do.

Palin's ambition & beliefs about public service & politics are really the ultimate in cynicism. And after Ronald Reagan made it to WhiteHouse (and Dan Quayle became VP, & Arnold Schwarzenegger became governor of California, and W became president), who's to say she's wrong?

It's all show biz.

The real lesson of the 2000 election was that that old line, that "In America, anyone can grow up to become the president" was true. Not the best or the brightest, but the candidate with the best marketing team.

Before Sarah Palin quit as governor of Alaska, I wrote that she was quitting because she always intended the job to be stepping stone (just like Bush as governor of Texas), & she had to leave before she had any record in it. She has no record of achieving anything but jobs. Once she gets a job, before she can fvck it up, she parlays the job into a new, better one, in higher office. It's like she saw "How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying" & is using it as her blueprint for life, on how to get to the top.

I'm an old old liberal Democrat, Beachchick, and hold no love for rightwingers, but RTWINGER quoted Obama directly. The only spin is coming from Obama's most ardent admirers.

The power players of the GOP do not, repeat DO NOT, want Sarah Palin in the game. She is unpredictable, uncontrollable and cares nothing about what is good for the party.

=====================================

Anyone who believes this knows nothing about politics. Or Sarah Palin, for that matter.

You do not get Sarah Palin. She's not in it, politics, because of passionate ideological beliefs. She's in it for the money and the glory. She's not stup!d; she knows her limits. What she's selling is her 'packaging' (her looks, her ability to deliver a speech, to land punches, and motivate a particular voting bloc on election day to cast their ballots for Republicans. She's willing to be the 'Front', which works for her puppetmasters who do not want or need public recognition. All they want is to control the power of the office of the president (and Congress).

If you want to know who is controlling her, I suggest you begin by googling Fred Malek.

Jan Brewer Admits She Was Wrong About Beheadings

Fearful people play the fear card.

It's time to throw off the fear that has destroyed the US and keeps us shackled to policies & politicians not in our individual and collective interests.

Whether it's Jan Brewer mentioning "beheadings during campaigning, Sarah Palin's neighbors too frightened of retaliation by her and her supporters to tell what they know about her, or Barack Obama flip-flopping on just about everything he and Democrats campaigned on in 2008 and continuing the Bush-Cheney policies, fear is controlling us. It's leading us to make bad decisions and is our real enemy.

Everyone who plays the fear card is themselves fearful of what would happen if they didn't.

It's time, long past time, for each of us to reach down deep without ourselves, be brave and confront these fears and these fearful people.

Crowdsource The Third World America Book Tour: Get Arianna To Come Speak To Your Group!

As long as we're on the subject:

You Can Invite RayMcGovern & BobParry to Speak to Your Group

Former CIA analyst RayMcGovern & investigative reporter RobertParry are teaming up as a unique speaking duo to provide insights into what’s going on in Washington today -- and what went wrong with the US over the past few decades.

RayMcGovern was a 27-year veteran of the CIA who objected to what he saw occurring inside the CIA’s analytical division, the distortion of intelligence for political reasons. As those lies misled the US into overseas calamities, McGovern spoke up, offering fact-based, rather than faith-based, analysis.

After his retirement from the CIA, McGovern famously confronted DefenseSecretary DonaldRumsfeld in an impromptu four-minute, live-TV debate about the lies that were used to justify the IraqWar. [Watch it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v1FTmuhynaw ]

RobertParry, who has covered Washington for more than three decades for news organizations including the Associated Press and Newsweek, led the way in exposing the Iran-Contra scandal in the 1980s (as well as breaking stories on contra-cocaine trafficking, the Iraq-gate scandal & the October Surprise controversy regarding Republican misconduct in Election 1980). But he couldn’t abide a mainstream US news media that increasingly shied away from telling difficult truths. He refused to play the career games to get ahead.

Blackwater Won Contracts Via Dozens Of Dummy Corporations

On June 29, 2006, former Bush administration official and Indiana governor Mitch Daniels told a room full of reporters and state lawmakers that "Indiana had received $3.8 billion from a foreign consortium made up of the Spanish construction firm Cintra and the Macquarie Infrastructure Group (mig) of Australia, and in exchange the state would hand over operation of the 157-mile Indiana Toll Road for the next 75 years." In return, the consortium's contract yielded "hundreds of millions of dollars in tax breaks", "immunity from most local and state taxes", "all the tolls, which it was allowed to raise to levels far beyond what Hoosiers had been used to. By one calculation, the Toll Road would generate more than $11 billion over the 75-year life of the contract, a nice return on mig-Cintra's $3.8 billion investment."

Stop privatizing government services and U.S. resources now.

Al Lawson, Top Democrat In Florida's State Senate, Endorses Charlie Crist Over Kendrick Meek

That's unfortunate, because unless Crist is going to become a Democrat, you're voting for more gridlock and Republicans obstructing everything they can for as long as they aren't controlling the White House and both houses in Congress.

Whatever kind of a job you believe Crist did as governor of your state, it's not anything like the job of a United States senator.

As governor, he's the CEO. As a US senator, Crist would be one of 100, and if he isn't in the majority, Florida will be last in line for the very limited monies being divvied up.

Obama is a DINO, continuing Bush-Cheney policies and passing Republican-style legislation but saying it's "reform" -- It's not. And that's been with a Democratically-controlled Congress. Even without 60 in the Senate, Obama & Democrats could have gotten real reform through using a whole host of methods, beginning with HarryReid forcing Republicans to actually filibuster instead of just threatening to. And Obama using the bully pulpit to push real reform through. But that's not what the DLC, which is controlling the Democratic Party, wants.

If voters give Obama a Republican Congress in November, you're going to see him watering down Democratic legislation even more than he has already.

If the People are to have any chance at all, voters have to put the most liberal of Democratic candidates into office in November. Anything else and this noble experiment, democracy and the USA, is over.
