It's not compromise, it's going after what the Repubs and Obama have wanted for years - our insurance policies that they like to called entitlemen ts - which they're not. The media pundits are calling an end is at hand -- Democrats will agree to spending cuts ($1 trillion), no revenue increases, and what Obama gets is that this won't come back up again before the 2012 election.

And the $1 trillion in cuts include social programs that the poor and middle class rely on (but not SS) and $80 billion over 10 years out of the Pentagon's budget.

Politics and chess playing, Marco. I have been reading your posts a long time. You are quite smart. Obama never really put anything on the table because there was no way that it would pass given the way he structured it.
The GOP has not agreed to raise taxes on the rich, and he knew they would balk when it came down to that.
Come on, man. Think.
Actually, I see opportunities for compromise in each of these, but apparently you are too blinded by your own self-affir mation to do the same.
