Chris Dodd is retiring in January, and it's expected that he'll be entering one of the banking firms he's been an 'insider lobbyist' for.
Dodd's and his wife's connections to and dealings with AIG woulda, shoulda, gotten them seats in front of a grand jury in the old days. Among other problems, she was a director for a company controlled by AIG, and AIG executives directed campaign contributions to Dodd in years past because he was to head the banking committee.
We on the left have spent so much of our energy and political capital defending unethical and corrupt Democratic politicians just because Republicans were attacking them, that we've lost credibility with ourselves. Just because they have a 'D' after their names, doesn't make them good or honest. Good, honest and effective people don't go into politics anymore. And we on the Democratic side of the aisle have a lot of quislings among us.
