Had Obama played it straight, had the Virginia Tech service been the model, had he just done it as a memorial and not a pep rally, had he not been laying blame for this tragedy on "heated rhetoric", but the real source (an mentally ill young man who never should have been able to purchase firearms legally), there would be no need to criticize him or Democrats.
