White House Expands On Executive Powers Once Criticized By Obama, No Doubt To The Delight Of The Base

Gitmo, like DADT, like the wars, can be ended through executive orders.

Even if it were true that Republican obstructionism was holding anything up (Obama & Democrats don't need Republicans to pass anything), there are ways around Republicans, ways to move them, move Blue Dogs, but Obama doesn't do any of it.

Once the 2008 campaign was over, Obama dug in his heels, did a 180-degree turn on his positions, sloooooooo­oooooooooo­oowed the momentum for CHANGE down (with a tentative 60-seat majority in the Senate and two Democratic senators at de@th's door) to "work in a bipartisan manner" with the GOP which wasn't interested in working with Democrats (Democrats had gotten control of Congress in 2006).

The only revisionist history is being done by Republicans and Obama's 'most ardent supporters' (DLC).
