Obama Demeans His Own Supporters

Saturday, September 18, 2010

I wish Obama was actually doing what he got elected to do, although my opinion on that is somewhere between a belief that there are powerful people in place that don't allow him to (on one hand) or he has changed since he got into office (which is certainly not hard to believe).

Claiming it's the GOP's fault doesn't wash with me (or many others).

And he's adopting GOP policies and no one even criticizes him for that.

So I can only criticize him for the things he promised that he has switched gears about, esp when it comes to war. That is deeply disturbing to me.

==================================================

In the early days of this administration, after Obama ended "Cocktail Wednesdays at the White House" shortly after its inception (and when reports that it actually was working to bring Democrats and Republicans closer together), I mused aloud how I hadn't seen Mrs. Robinson (Michelle's mother) since immediately after the inauguration.  And perhaps Cheney had renditioned her to an "undisclosed location" for the duration of Obama's term in office.

I have looked high and low and everywhere in between for one scrap, a crumb of leftward consideration.  Anything that would indicate he's not a Republican (forget about liberal Democrat).

Every single action, every one of them, indicates both at the time and then later turns out to confirm that this is a Republican administration imposing conservative, pro-corporate, pro-war, anti-civil rights, policies and legislation.

Coming into office with a mix of positions on issues, some liberal and some conservative, could be (and is) reasonable.  But the odds that he (or anyone) would switch gears on only those positions he had which were liberal just doesn't cut it.  That is a red flag of a deceitful man.
