Gulf Oil Spill Stopped: BP Says Oil Leak Is HALTED (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Do you remember Obama's excuse about why his InteriorDepartment issued exemptions to BP:

"[T]here is a thorough environmental review as to whether a certain portion of the Gulf should be leased or not. . . . .Under current law, the Interior Department has only 30 days to review an exploration plan submitted by an oil company. That leaves no time for the appropriate environmental review. The result is, they're continually waived. And this is just one example of a law that was tailored by the industry to serve their needs instead of the public's."

It turns out not to be true.

Obama announced a moratorium on drilling, after which the MMS official in the Gulf said it applied to shallow water drilling. Salazar said it didn't. The uproar from that confusion caused Obama to say it applied to ALL drilling. It took weeks before learning that Obama l!ed, he never issued any paper on it, and in the end, it was only on deepwater drilling.

The Justice Department should be launching an investigation and Congress and Obama should be controlling BP's every move, but instead only asked BP to release the live feed. BP told the EPA to buzz off, & has continued using Corexit which is only being used to hide the oil.

Obama's been an abject failure, and we give him a pass at our own peril.
