Superdelegates' Clout CURBED? Democrats Propose Less Influence For VIP Delegates

60 votes are required to block the threat of a filibuster, and republicans have threatened most legislation (except military spending or money to corporations).

No.

There are two points you don't understand. One is Rule 22 & the fact that Democrats refuse to exercise the discretion that Rule22 allows: Making Republicans actually filibuster, instead of just threatening to do it.

Rule 22 gives the SenateMajorityLeader the discretion to actually make the call. HarryReid's called Republicans on it exactly once in the last 3 1/2 years, when it was something that Democrats really wanted & needed at that time (when RepublicanJimBunning threatened to filibuster a bill to temporarily extend unemployment benefits -- HarryReid called his bluff & Republicans caved).

HarryReid should make them do it, over every issue where they threaten to do it. Filibustering is hard on those soft, pampered bodies. Americans love reality TV. 'Survivor - Washington, DC'.

But Obama & the DLC-controlled DemocraticParty aren't doing that. Because it might actually work to get Democratic voters' legislative agenda made into the law of the land & do good for the People. And that's not what Obama&Company are there for. They're there to do the work of the transnational corporations, & preventing that are the liberals.
