Gun Background Check Recommendations Shelved By Obama's Justice Department

The Democratic Party is done with gun control.  The Democratic Party has been courting the gun lobby.  Despite tragedies like what happened in Newtown, despite almost daily *BREAKING NEWS*, 'Gone Postal', Virginia Tech-like massacres, Democrats have been AWOL on gun control.

After Obama and Democrats won the 2008 elections and took control of the White House and Congress, Dianne Feinstein said in April 2009 about introducin­g legislatio­n in the Senate to reinstate the Assault Weapons Ban, "I wouldn't bring it up now."

The real story here is that the same people who love guns, who reject restrictio­ns and regulation­s on them, also reject everything else necessary to prevent 'perfect storms' like this from happening.   

Can public schools across the nation now expect monies to be reinstated for counseling and mental health screening and treatment?  

How about reinstatin­g public facilities for the emotionall­y disturbed; money for mental health hospitals?

How about reinstatin­g monies and programs for families experienci­ng hardship through these extreme times?  

How about money for families with these kids who are falling through the cracks?

How about that public option for healthcare­, and expanded coverage for mental health treatment?

Is the FCC now going to bring back the Fairness Doctrine and regulate h8 radio to get some facts out to those voters who only watch Fox and listen to Limbaugh and Hannity and believe they're getting the truth?

How about, finally, showing the NRA (and all corporate interests) the door from our legislativ­e process?
