Egypt Pro-Government Supporters Clash With Anti-Government Protesters

On Democracy Now!:

When asked about President Obama’s remarks last night on Mubarak, Chomsky said: "Obama very carefully didn’t say anything... He’s doing what U.S. leaders regularly do. As I said, there is a playbook: whenever a favored dictator is in trouble, try to sustain him, hold on; if at some point it becomes impossible, switch sides."

I think that's a fair take on the situation.

Just two days ago, when asked if Mubarak should leave now, if he's a d/ctator, Joe Biden said "No."

The Saudi royals have been denouncing the protestors.  The Saudis are our masters, to whom Obama has bowed deeply.  Knowing what your own eyes have told you from two years of "bipartisanship" and bowing and scraping to Republicans, who do you think Obama is trying to please?

The best interests of the American people, our economic and physical safety, lies with the people in that region, and not the d/ctators oppressing them.
