Obama Reflects On Elections In '60 Minutes' Interview (VIDEO)

Sunday, November 7, 2010

Many people go through their lives making, very generally, long and short terms goals, & not necessarily in this order, like going to college, getting a job, finding someone to fall in love with and marry, buying a home/car/furnishings/automobile/etc., having children, and so on.

Some people hyper-manage these decisions (going to a particular college/university, getting a job with a particular company or firm, etc.), and others who plan for one to 5 years down the road (or from goal to goal, as each goal is achieved, and may spend their entire lives working on achieving just one or two things). I think the latter group account for most Americans, along with growing numbers who don't make goals or plans for their lives, who go through life passively, letting life happen to them instead of getting out in front of the curve.

I think it's very difficult for those who make general plans for their lives and those who make none (middle & poor classes) to understand or even believe that there are inner-directed, extremely driven people who make plans for achievement not only for themselves, but for their children, their businesses and for the nation and world at large.
