You're correct. Obama wants Congress to overturn it. The House already has, and the Senate voted it down two weeks ago. Obama is counting on the Senate taking it up again in a lame duck session after the election. It's not likely to happen then, either. John McCain has vowed to filibuster it should it come back.



All that Obama had to do was not appeal and DADT would have been a relic on the scrap heap of history.
