Obama explained his absence from the public debate on healthcare reform as, "Legislation that must come from Congress", all the while he was undercutting the committees crafting healthcare reform bills with a GINORMOUS giveaway to phRma & Big Insurance.



The only way that we on the left are going to get a government that works on our behalf is to elect people who actually work on our behalf. You don't put corporate-government-switchbackers into government jobs if you want public servants who will serve the People. You also put people into office who don't just talk about transparency, but live transparently; frequent and open press conferences, with the press allowed to crawl all over your activities. Obama has been allowed to get away with lawyer-speak by an intimidated media that has forgotten its role in the fabric of a democracy.
