This is what comes of Obama and Democrats not holding investigations and prosecuting the Bush administration. It enables Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Ashcroft, Yoo, Bybee, the CIA torturers, et al, to crawl out of the woodwork and rejoin polite society.



What it also does is guarantee that the ante has been raised and the bar lowered for all time on human rights, and with it the loss of the US's moral authority. Obama has already expanded Bush's claim of unitary executive autonomous power, declaring his right to imprison and execute American citizens without any judicial oversight or due process.



Once Bush has completed this book tour, the path for the return of neocons, regular cons, and future Bush administrations will have been paved.



If for no other reason (and there are so many other reasons), unless Obama does a 180-degree turn and performs to what his supporters' expectations were of him (and Democrats), he's got to be a one-termer.
