Chris Hedges, one of the most interesting, thoughtful, intelligent (in addition to being well educated), complex journalists in our history. 'War Is A Force That Gives Us Meaning' (which should be required reading in every high school, before any young American is of age to join the military or vote) is but one of several of Hedges's books.

After hearing reports on an array of issues, domestic and foreign (like how Obama isn't deterred by the events taking place at Japan's nuclear power plants and is moving full speed ahead with plans to license and build more plants in the US), I think Power and the Tiny Acts of Rebellion by Chris Hedges may be the most important read of our time.
