U.S. Postal Service Faces Bankruptcy, Plans Cuts To Slow Delivery Of First Class Mail

Sunday, December 4, 2011

The United States Postal Service is a Constitutionally required service; it would take a Constitutional amendment to close it down.

The only problems that I've ever had were with UPS and Fed Ex, and were the result of drivers (always rotating new ones every few weeks/months) not knowing routes.  That's not the case with USPS mail carriers - Both the carriers at my home and business have been on the routes for many years.

If mail service was privatized, who would service small rural communities?

This love affair that conservatives have with privatization is a narcotized pipedream; the government has always done it better and for less.  That's just a fact.
