Michele Bachmann's History As A Foster Parent Remains Murky

Saturday, July 2, 2011

She DID NOT RAISE THEM. She gave them a place to sleep and eat for a short time.

================================================

She didn't do all that much of that either, it seems:

The Bachmanns were licensed by the state from 1992 to 2000 to handle up to three foster children at a time; the last child arrived in 1998. They began by offering short-term care for girls with eating disorders who were treated through a program at the University of Minnesota, said George Hendrickson, the chief executive of PATH Minnesota, the private agency that handled the placements.

He said the Bachmann home was “technically considered a treatment home,” which offered a higher level of reimbursement.

Of all the possible emotionally troubled able-bodied teenagers a psychologist and his wife (with 5 of their own young children), could take into their home, the Bachmanns chose teenage girls with "eating disorders".
