That's not accurate at all.
Gay rights groups support reproductive rights groups support environmental issues' advocates support affordable quality medical treatment for all, and so on. Division among the groups is encouraged and supported at the very top in order to keep control.
The reason really is very simple, and for simplicity's sake -- It's much easier and when you're really working on behalf of the monied interests (corporations), you only want to have to give away the least amount to get 50 percent plus one vote necessary to win any issue in a democracy.
