Obama Wields Budget Scalpel, Republicans Say It Won't Go Far Enough

Sunday, February 13, 2011

A 'Tea Party'-like challenge from the left within the Democratic Party is the obvious next step.

The media behaves as if all is hunky-dory within the Democratic Party, when the truth is that the only reason Obama's numbers are as high as they are is because of the push-poll coverage by the media that "all is hunky-dory within the Democratic Party; it's the Republican Party falling apart".

Michael Lerner's very powerful case for primarying Obama.

Ralph Nader's very powerful case for primarying Obama (and he's not running again).

No one in the Democratic Party will do it.  It would be su!cide for any professional politician in the Democratic Party to run against the party's sitting president (the DLC has gotten too powerful, what with a Democrat in the White House and a Democratically-controlled Senate overseeing an NSA with today's eavesdropping abilities).

Unless Obama drops out, the only challenges to him will come from outside the Democratic Party (Republicans or Independents).

It's time (long past, actually) for the left to force Obama and DLC-controlled Democrats to either work on their behalf or push Obama and the DLC-controlled Democrats out of the closet and expose them for the Republicans that they (Obama and the DLC-controlled Democrats) really are.
