Jim DeMint Would Accept Compromise On Bush Tax Cuts

I have a hard time believing people's memories are so short.  

No, it wasn't a done deal.  

To begin with, the TARP was passed into law by a Democratically controlled Congress.  Paulson wanted all of the money, then, no accountability whatsoever, but because of the outcries by the People, only half of it was released.  

Obama had the opportunity and the clout to impose any kind of restrictions, regulations, even nationalizing the banks, but chose not to before handing out the second half of the money.
