You don't put Social Security on the table at all before a "Deficit Commission" (it's not in danger of going broke, to begin with) or put people like this on your commission if you weren't signaling that you're open to doing it.  For a Democratic president to talk about Social Security in terms of "entitlement" broadcasts his real ideology & agenda.
