Deepwater Horizon Inspections: MMS Skipped Monthly Inspections On Doomed Rig

There actually has been an investigation, the result of which Salazar came up with the plan to split the MMS into 2 agencies.



These people were found to be literally and figuratively sleeping with Big Oil, and Salazar's solution is to separate the agency's functions so that there wouldn't be a conflict of interest.



Here's another example of non-action by Obama and Salazar on this:



Obama announces that there will be a freeze on drilling offshore. No new permits will be awarded. In the past two weeks, 5 new permits were awarded. The spokesperson for MMS, when asked about the 5 new permits insisted that no permits had been awarded.



Surely the permits have signatures and files on record. Why aren't heads rolling?
