Glen Beck sure does. But how much of that, that Sheen "doesn't have the power of a major movement at his back" because he hasn't gotten the kind of coverage that the media gives to Palins and Becks and others on the far right? Last summer, when the teabaggers were taking over the townhalls that members of Congress were holding to discuss healthcare reform, protests by the left were taking place that got little or no media coverage. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akwjAjcQnqM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx0Hi7NuQUo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSMyY3_dmrM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8umfwG0SSKQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-TqMDthnEo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-cxHC_JU8o That's been true since the 1970s in the US, after 'People Power' ended the Vietnam War. The establishment elites very effectively manage dissent by not covering it in the mainstream media. Had you not been in Washington on 1/20/01 or seen Michael Moore's 'Fahrenheit 911', would you have known that there was a sizable number of citizens and groups protesting the BushCheney ascent to the White House? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FKZKvdJbIk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAp6YAPtC2c&playnext=1&list=PLF068837D7D1928B3&index=18 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXffDJn9aoY&feature=related http://www.consortiumnews.com/2003/012703a.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/1127937.stm By the way, unless you're clued in to activist groups, you rarely hear about rallies or marches until after they've occurred. It's not like these groups have a Fox channel advertising rallies as teabaggers had, and as Glen Beck had. Sheen also is a very humble protester, exercising his own conscience and not leading any movement. But I would bet that had he been calling for just such a movement, especially during the West Wing years, a major movement would have had his back.
