Health Care Repeal Unpopular With The Public, Would Be Vetoed By Obama
Thursday, November 11, 2010
This old, liberal Democrat would have absolutely no problem with Republicans repealing this massive piece of corporate welfare that doesn't begin until 2014.
I'm not alone. This is not the healthcare reform that Americans wanted when they put Obama and Democrats into power in 2008.
Poll Shows 76% Support For Choice Of Public Plan
GOP calls for repeal of health law, but many in poll wish overhaul went further.
What Obama did was preserve the crooked system of the insurance industry as the gatekeeper to medical care. That is the problem that is keeping medical treatment from being affordable, and universal for all citizens.
Let the Republicans do the heavy lifting -- They're motivated now; let them fight the institutions (insurance, PhRma, AMA, Hospitals).
If this isn't repealed first, there will be no money for a single payer system. It'll all have gone into the pockets of Big Insurance & PhRma.
Repeal it, and then Democrats can run in 2012 on single payer universal health care or expanding Medicare to cover everyone. With a new standard bearer, a real Democrat and not another DLCer, not another DINO (NO on OBAMA), at the top of the Democratic ticket.
