ns even began (also not his job, as he himself rightly noted), the Progressiv
e Caucus has a plan for dealing with the deficit. All that is on the table now is the Republican
s' plan. That's the boilerplat
e for this deal.
The Progressiv
e Caucus's positions are overwhelmi
ngly mainstream America's. Americans do not want Social Security and Medicare on the table in these talks, and want an end to the
Bush now Obama tax cuts.
