You're charmed by a quaint notion of "country wisdom" when in fact what it is is someone with limited informatio­n going with a gut feeling, to trust others to make decisions on their behalf, without having a firm educationa­l foundation to test that gut feeling and whether that other person they're trusting knows what he's talking about.
