Robert Gates On Pakistan: 'Somebody Knew' Osama Bin Laden Was Hiding There

The point is, if the Pakistanis didn't know that the CIA was in a house in that neighborho­od for months, why would the Pakistanis know that Bin Laden was in the neighborho­od?

If the Pakistanis knew that the CIA was in the neighborho­od, what did the Pakistanis think the CIA was doing there?  If the Pakistanis knew the CIA was near Bin Laden's house and if the Pakistanis knew where Bin Laden was, wouldn't the Pakistanis have warned Bin Laden that the CIA was close by?
