FYI - Squirrels' territory covers up to 10 acres.

And they get pushed around and out of their territory by other squirrels, other aggressive or predatory animals, and nuisance, bullying dogs that they're tired of having to deal with, too.  

Just sayin'.  

You never know everything that they're eating; they do not live by birdseed alone.  And is the seed that you're giving them organic?  Mine, by the way, are feasting on corn that I've never planted, none of my neighbors in at least a 2-mile radius have planted, but that's growing wild in one section of my yard.  I suspect that some bird flying over 'evacuated­' the seeds, or it goes blown in during a storm with high gusts, but I have no idea if it's organic seed.
