Fishing Closed By Oil Spill: Feds Ban Commercial And Recreational Fishing From Louisiana To Florida

Sunday, May 2, 2010

All any president would had to have done to satisfy your statement was to change the light bulbs in the White House residence.

When did 0bamabots (who I'm becoming more and more convinced are paid political operatives) come to believe that comparing Obama's performance to Bush is an adequate defense?

Bush was a disaster -- Most people with a mind know that. But Obama is continuing just about all of Bush's policies. There's no excuse and there's not defense for that.

Fishing Closed By Oil Spill: Feds Ban Commercial And Recreational Fishing From Louisiana To Florida

Blocking a Manhattan-style project for getting Americans clean and cheap energy is not something either party wants to be seen doing. Neither before this latest disaster or now after it's happened.

Let's remember that Obama paid a lot of lip service to green energy before he got into the White House, and afterwards he's been actively promoting coal, nuclear and oil. Both parties = Corporate Governing

Call Congress and the White House and demand action on clean alternatives now.

Lynn Woolsey Should Resign as Head of the Progressive Caucus

Saturday, March 6, 2010

The 2008 election was a head-to-head between liberals and the DLC (pro-corporate, DINOs). The problem was that the base thought that voting for Obama meant the end of the DLC (Clintons). No sooner did Obama win than he hired all of the Clintonites (DLC), & squeezed out Howard Dean (responsible for the 50-state strategy that won it for Obama) - More on Dean, who is NOT a liberal, later.

Obama stole the Clintons' strategy (to vanquish the left from the Democratic Party, & bring in moderate Republican politicians and voters who can't abide the fringe rightwingers controlling the Republican Party), with some minor tweaks.

The plan is to move the Democratic Party to the right by alienating, marginalizing, breaking up the different interest groups within the liberal base of the Democratic party (civil libertarians, anti-war, pro-choice, etc.), drive them out of the party and bring moderate Republicans (both politicians who can't deal with the Republican Party's base, the evangelical Christians, who are controlling their party & moderate Republican voters, like Susan Eisenhower) into the Democratic Party. To have a centrist party which would govern for 100+ years.

This was the Clintons' plan (and why I think Bill Clinton was so angry with Obama) because Obama stole the plan with a minor change -- Obama is going for a couple of special interest groups within the Republican Party in a bigger way (defense industry hawks) and one of which Clinton could never hope to bring over (Christian Republicans).

Obama Health Care Speech: It's Time To Act

Nader also swung NH Bush's way & had Gore won NH, Florida would have been irrelevant.

And had Kerry won New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, yada yada.

There is a sense of entitlement, an arrogance, that the political parties have, that we the People buy into, that really doesn't serve us (the People). I happen to think it conflicts with the very core of democracy It's that somehow only the candidates of these two parties are legitimate and "How dare anybody else challenge them?"

If we've learned nothing else from the last 20 years in American politics, it's that when you are not at the table, you're on the menu. And those in power do everything they can do to keep the interests of the individual American citizen off the table.

We make a lot of excuses for Democratic politicians. We hate to admit that Bill Clinton was not a friend to the People, to the little guy, and helped lay the foundation for Republicans' vision of our country & the world, & for what Bush&Cheney managed to do.

For whatever the reasons that Nader ran in either 2000 or 2004, his candidacy resonated with many voters whose interests were being ignored by both parties. So why blame Nader?

Only 50% of those who are eligible to vote in the US actually vote. If everybody voted, perhaps the People's interests would be served instead of the interests of transnational corporations. I think that if that 50% did vote (and voted for the candidate who would govern in their best interests), it would likely be Nader and not Yin (a DLC-controlled Democrat) Yang (a Republican).

We can go around and around (and I think it merits doing, discussing it, considering all of the angles), but I ultimately keep coming back to the same conclusion: A President Gore and a President Kerry just wasn't meant to be. Whatever the reason, neither wanted it enough, neither had the right stuff to make it happen. And, had it happened, perhaps there wouldn't have been a war in Iraq or the annihilation of New Orleans, but there would have been other catastrophes with plenty to complain about, just like during Clinton's time and Carter before him.

Emanuel, Pelosi Meet In Capitol To Chart Health Care Course

Saturday, February 27, 2010

Obama ran on words that do not match his actions in office. Obama's numbers are plummeting, he's losing the Democratic base, because people are realizing that they've been l!ed to by Obama.

Since the election (and even before, with his FISA vote), Obama has been deceptive, breaking every campaign pledge and promise, conceding the positions of the left (getting nothing in return), and hobbling real Democrats at every turn while making Republicans and Blue Dogs stronger (and harder to beat in 2010 and 2012).

Obama's most ardent supporters, people like you, are the most immediate problem, as they help him screw them (and us) over. Until they (and you) wake up to these facts, they are the reason we don't get what we all thought we were voting for when we voted Obama and Democrats into office as the majority power in our government.
