Pennsylvania is so invested in the prison business - the Land of Oz - that we export inmates to Michigan and Virginia facilities . Says civil rights and criminal defense lawyer David Rudovsky, "Instead of shipping produce and other products of economic benefit, we're shipping prisoners. "
And all of this costs noxious amounts of money; the state allocation is due to grow 8.5 percent, to almost $1.8 billion. That's nearly a third of what Pennsylvania spends on education.

Correctional officials see danger in prison overcrowdi ng. Others see opportunit y. The nearly two million Americans behind bars—the majority of them nonviolent offenders— mean jobs for depressed regions and windfalls for profiteers
I think this has less to do with the women being more successful than their fathers and more to do with the men being absent during their daughters' formative years.
Both examples you provide were absent fathers in their daughters' lives from early on. There doesn't appear to have been any bonding between the fathers and their daughters so it's not surprising that they can't find common ground to base their relationsh

Then you ask questions like "... then why was Lieberman part of the caucus?" Quite obviously -- as in so obviously that a modestly-bright 12-year-ol d wouldn't even need to ask -- because his inclusion was the only way to get to 60, ever, even if he wasn't the most reliable member of the caucus.
