Obama: Reforms, Economy Are 'Moving In The Right Direction' (VIDEO)

Tuesday, September 21, 2010

Obama, RahmEmanuel, the DLC, DavidAxelrod, DavidPlouffe, all have worked their @$$es off to prevent real progressives getting into office.

One example right off the bat is Blanche Lincoln.

The White House put its full weight & support behind Blanche Lincoln over the true progressive (& union-backed) candidate in the primary, Bill Halter.

This wasn't unlike when Obama made a deal with Arlen Specter and put the full weight and support of the Democratic machine behind Specter during the 2010 primary in Pennsylvania, trying to buy off (among other alternative candidates Democratic voters in PA might have wanted to vote to have representing them) Joe Sestak.  Consider that -- Obama actively went about trying to prevent Democratic voters from choosing their preferred candidate for the US so that a DINO, Republican Arlen Specter, could retain the seat.

Blanche Lincoln is 40 points down behind the GOP candidate John Boozman.

Guess who could beat Boozman in Arkansas? BillHalter. Because, like just about all Americans, Arkansans would prefer an authentic, likable candidate, even if it's a progressive.

But more progressives in Congress means real populist legislation getting passed into law. Real reform bills, that re-regulate banks and big business. Real stimulus bills, with jobs creation, green clean energy development, and more.

But that's not who or what Obama and the DLC-controlled Democrats are about.

Obama: Reforms, Economy Are 'Moving In The Right Direction' (VIDEO)

I think it's you who didn't listen.

During the 2008 campaign, Obama told people that they had to stay involved after the election, that they couldn't just vote for him, go away for four years and expect that he would do what they had hoped. He said that there were powerful interests working against what the people wanted, and if We The People wanted Obama to do our bidding, we would have to MAKE HIM DO IT.

Obama's 'most ardent supporters' forget that those of us who criticize Obama are only doing what he warned us needed to be done. NOT to trust him.

Since the election (and even before, with his FISA vote), Obama's given us every reason to distrust and doubt him. He's been deceptive, breaking every campaign pledge and promise, conceding the positions of the left (getting nothing in return), and hobbling real Democrats at every turn while making Republicans and Blue Dogs stronger (and harder to beat in 2010 and 2012).

Obama's 'most ardent supporters' (like you) are the most immediate problem, as they help him screw them (& us) over.   They keep his personal numbers high.  That enables Obama to blow them (and all Democratic voters) off.  Until they wake up to these facts, they are their own (& our) worst e n e m ies, and the reason we don't get what we all thought we were voting for when we voted Obama and Democrats into office as the majority power in our government.

Obama: "Reforms, Economy Are 'Moving In The Right Direction'
============================================

They're certainly not moving in the left direction.

That comment by Obama was a great example of 'lawyer-speak'.  He takes his most ardent supporters for f00Is.

Fired U.S. Attorneys: Bush Administration 'Turned The Justice Department Into The Laughingstock Of The Country'

Let's move on, here, and let's decide if we want to immediately become serfs under Republicans, or continue a desperate battle to preserve our citizenship with democrats in office.

Not nice choices. As BP demonstrated recently, and as Goldman Sachs continues to demonstrate, not a nice world we live in.
==========================================

The American People have no real idea (nor obviously do you, from what you've said here this evening) of who is running the nation.  But keep watching reality TV.

Obama is as corrupt as Bush and Cheney.  He's continuing just about all of Bush's policies, and has gone Bush and Cheney one better in many instances.

Obama is Goldman Sachs' boy, having received more contributions from GS than any other candidate.  Same goes for BP.  Obama has let them destroy the Gulf of Mexico and the southwest coast of the US without fear of any prosecution.  Obama is letting BP continue dangerous and risky drilling operations in sensitive waters which the US relies on for food.

Your ig.no.rance is so shocking that I have to ask, "What are you smoking?"

Fired U.S. Attorneys: Bush Administration 'Turned The Justice Department Into The Laughingstock Of The Country'

Grant was not prosecuted by his successors after a clearly corrup administration, either. In fact American politics is replete with corrupt and possibly criminal behaviors in high office and almost none of them are ever prosecuted after the admin has left office.

===========================================

We shouldn't investigate or prosecute corruption in office again because a presidential administration 140 years ago wasn't prosecuted for corruption?

Are you freakin' kidding?

And it was Clinton, dearie, not Carter.  And yes, as I have written about extensively, here at HP and elsewhere.

There was nothing "arguable" about it.  And no, it's not the way "things are done".

Carter came into Washington with DC insiders sneering at the 'peanut farmer' and obstructing his efforts, just as Republicans are doing now to Obama.  And Carter tried compromising.  What Democrats don't get (and never have gotten, in spite of the fact that Republicans telegraph this to us often enough) is that "The opposition (whoever it is, whether it's foreign or domestic) doesn't respect reasonableness, compromise".

The Reagan and Bush campaign used what they saw as weakness and committed treason by secretly negotiating with Iran during the 1980 campaign.

Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Casey, Jim Baker, and their gang should have faced trial and prison for treason (just as Joanne Herring should have -- Charlie Wilson's War).  But Bill Clinton, DLC co-founder, made sure that wasn't going to happen.

Were you similarly bothered that Carter never prosecuted the Reagan admin for Iran-Contra? I certainly was.  That was arguably treasonous.

Grant was not prosecuted by his successors after a clearly corrup administration, either. In fact American politics is replete with corrupt and possibly criminal behaviors in high office and almost none of them are ever prosecuted after the admin has left office.
