Brown was on vacation in 2003 and playing in the Bob Hope classic in California when the space shuttle Columbia happened. When the other vacationin
g news anchors at other stations returned from their vacations to report it and Brown wasn't seen on the air, the story by the wags went that he played on. But according to the NYT, CNN had had their aviation/s
pace expert Miles O'Brien handling the anchor desk and decided to keep him in place.
I'm no fan of Brown's, but get your facts straight before you commit libel.
